"Cue Earth"

Caustic Song file (optional):

Okay, my first tune for a week or so, went for a very early 90's electronica feel, heavily influenced by the first Artificial Intelligence compilation album from Warp Records.

The title is an anagram of the name of a seminal UK electronica outfit.

4 racks but I would have struggled to do it in C2 without the flexibility of the insert effects.

Oh, and NO Basslines. Two Beatboxes and Two PCM Synths...the lead sound is a ******* sample. I'll let you guess (or check the Caustic file)

There sounds like there is

There sounds like there is popping in between the drum breaks. Is that you ro am I hearing things? IE 1:00

Really like around 2:30, nice lead.

My only thought is there is to much treble at the beginning. I think you could give those sounds more justice boosting the mid range and cut off some of the high. It would make the sound intro more full.

You know me, you wanted it... wink

The export came out really

The export came out really loud and the drums are very high in the mixer, I was hoping the limiter would rescue me, will give it a few more listens and export a new mix if needed.

Thanks smiley

The sound at the beginning has the mid boosted, very heavy Reverb and a chorus or Flanger. I think it's the Reverb, with no damping that's probably making it sound so trebley, coupled with it being an unusually loud file.

Again, I'll give it a few more listens tomorrow and make some changes. I've already thought about trying the master Reverb on the beats for more control and/or flexibility.

*edit, the mid isn't boosted, will tweak the Reverb and EQ to see if that improves things*

The click comes from the "006

The click comes from the "006" sample (channel 1) in the first beatbox. If you go to kits options (the gear icon) and press the waveform next to the 006 sample, you can clearly see the click sticking out after the kick drum decay. Zoom in all the way and nudge those two sample down to 0, or select around them and delete the offending few samples and you're good to.

Ok, now to listen to the rest of the song. That click made me stop in my tracks, thought it might be a bug.surprise

Wow, that was easy. First time I've actually changed anything in the waveform editor. smiley

That pop is not the "Caustic

That pop is not the "Caustic pop" that I complained about before..... it sounds like a noise artifact in one of your drum samples...... if you edit it out in the sample editor like Rej said, noise goes away.....

Nice mood in your track.... I enjoyed the listen..... good animation and ambient effects at the same time.

Good job....
