Modular Glitch Question

Caustic Song file (optional):

I made some pretty weird patches with the modular but I don't really understand what is happening. The main way I can create a random glitch sound is by having 2 waveform generators. #1 is the Carrier and #2 is the Modulator??? (Im assuming this cause #1 is the out and # 2 is modulating it somehow:. If I connect the OUT of #2 into the NOTE port of #1, and determining on the level I set the OUT on #2, it seems to make it more/less intense. Now hook up an LFO into the Note of #2 and things get really weird.

My question is what is:

What is happening when you plug the out of an oscillator into the note port of another oscillator?

What is happening when you plug an LFO into the modulator oscillator in question 1?

Sorry if this is worded poorly, Im pretty confused.

The note input, of the

The note input, of the oscillators, is a pitch modulation input. The pitch, of the carrier, is being modulated at audio rate, so, it's a variety of FM synthesis. But, other than the glitches, it's not a, particularly, fruitful one. The pitch of the modulating oscillator is being modulated by the LFO.

This type of information

This type of information would take a lot of big brain cells to take to make this.  Anyways, really nice modular technique, also, I heard a little bit of fart noises with this glitch.

Thanks for the info. Do you

Thanks for the info. Do you know if there is a way to reverse the polarity of an LFO in Caustic. Im using a bunch of LFO's as step-sequencers and would like to get a snare to hit on the 2nd beat of the bar, not the first by reversing the polarity of a squarewave LFO. Im trying to make a fully functional beat with just a press of a key. I got the melody, kick and hat working but cant figure out how to make the snare fit in. If you hit a key while on the BUS machine you'll see what im trying to do.

Yeah. You can do this to

Yeah. You can do this to generate a, unipolar, inversion, from a mini lfo.(Save a, blank, Modsynth preset. Visit it's MIDI mapping page. Clear CC1 from the mod wheel output. The 100%, default, CV, from that output, is, far, more useful to you, just, the way it is.) It'll invert any of the waveforms, and you can use input B as a depth control. But, that might be an issue for you. You're using a ramp down lfo to control the amplitude of your percussion. Inverting a ramp down will make a ramp up. To get it on an off beat, you need to shift it's phase by 180%, and it doesn't have a phase mod input. You can isolate the latter half of one's cycle with another (machine B). The 2>1 mixer is making the gain up, and generating a, more, exponential response. You could do that, with your kick AM control. One note, one audio stream, one envelope generator. You can, probably, think of something better to do, with all that real estate.

Hello Brockhard, this project

Hello Brockhard, this project is really nice. Also, how did you learn how to make this stuff? This modular stuff might be alot for me to remember.
