THE KRELL

Caustic Song file (optional):

Mostly  Modular Made and 50's-early 80's retro.  It might help if you guys know where I am coming from with this, The first half is a soundscape like what they did in the Forbidden Planet Soundtrack, and the last part is Tomita-esque with arpeggiator  with some of the harmonic devices favored by Vangelis in Blade Runner.

Really good sound you get out

Really good sound you get out of the modular there. Your really catch that early SCI-FI feel with this one. Seems your study on modulars have paid off well. Good job Wardiniwink

Do you mind if I make a trance-Daft Punk-like version of this?

RGAR WOULD be GREAT!

THAT WOULD be GREAT!

If you look at the file there are some empty machine slots in the middle. I had it go to something driving with drums at the end  but pulled it. I am sure you could do something cool with this.

I did send this presets to

I did send this presets to Rej. i discovered The trick for those old sci fi sounds is that they :(Louis and Bebe Barron composers/performers of the Forbidden Planet Soundtrack) first  ran them first through reveb (appaerntly homemade with springs like a guitar amp) THEN though two tape recorders with the feedback set high which created the delay . Of course the delay would be pretty short, what we now call slap back. with the new effect inserts we can do that & i found almost any sound you use that combination on will give that vibe, that signal flow is not used much. I also think it's cool that these two really are some of the pioneers of circuit bending , they built their own little keyboard-less modules from scratch and drove them hard until the tubes blew! it is also a little sad that they never got credit and their names are not even in the film:

I made a kind of stereo

I like the mood feel on this one, well done

I made a kind of stereo "reverb" on the modular, which came out quite nice..... but because of the modules to create it, left me little room to make a complex tone generator...

Now..... if we could send the signal output of one modular into another machine's modular synth, then you could really build something big.....

But ahhh.... I'm dreamin'.... cool
