This Unworthy Right Hand

Hi everyone,

I've been using Caustic 2 since around December, but I think I'm really just barely starting to get the hang of it.  I hear the tracks other folks put together and I wish I could get some of the incredible sounds they manage.  This track is one I'm pretty fond of, though.

Let me know what you think!

I like it, nice layers and I

I like it, nice layers and I love the slightly glitchy, electronica feel. Your melodic range is way better than mine.

Btw, I'm sure Caustic 3 will knock your socks off. Don't forget that a lot of tunes in 'Show and Tell' recently have been made with Caustic 3 Alphas or Betas and this really makes a huge difference to the possibilities for each tune...

It's backwards compatible

It's backwards compatible with C2 so your tunes should be fine in either and you get a ton of extra, shiny goodness - more racks, new synths, new effects and some cool new workflow improvements smiley

Were you going for an 8bit

Were you going for an 8bit /retro video game  feel on this?  Interesting composition in any case.

I was going for something

I was going for something evocative of retro video game music, but I wasn't trying to recreate that kind of sound exactly.  Thanks for the comment :)

Very interesting composition,

Very interesting composition, reminds me of some of the old RPG games I used to play on my C64. But have more themes and of course more instruments since the SID-chip only could play 3 voices at once. Really enjoyableyesyes

Yeah, I thought chiptune too smiley

It has that 8-bit vibe with lovely harmonic/melodic complexity too.

The track comments made me

The track comments made me curious who the song was about. It took some googling to find Thomas Cranmer. To be honest, I have never heard of him. Pretty interesting track. I like it.

Hey, Spinneysc.  Thanks for the compliment :)

Cranmer was a complex guy and not everything he did and said was awesome, but his martyrdom was super Metal \m/
