Beatbox preset question

Are the samples saved with the beatbox presets (a la pcmsynth?). I'm thinking no, since I made one but it's filesize is 1k...

No, And that is why there isn't a beatbox preset selection on the site yet.

I talked to Rej and in a coming release, the beatbox presets will be fully contained.

There's good and bad to this.

There's good and bad to this. If you're making multiple kits out of the same set of samples the current way is better, if you want to wrap up and share a kit, the pcmsynth-way is better.

I will probably change the default method and let pack makers use an older version if they have kits which heavily share samples.

But yeah, like Mike said, once I encapsulate all the required samples in .beatbox files it will be possible to share them here like is being done with PCMSynth and SubSynth.

okay cool, that's what I

okay cool, that's what I thought. It makes more sense for me to pcmsynth some of the kits I have anyways due to large numbers of samples involved. Looking forward to the next version!

i really think there is room

i really think there is room for both methods .for example keep it as it is but give the option to save the samples with the kit when saving.
there are times when you want more than 8 samples in a beatbox folder. Rej would have to redo all the soundpacks to fit the new format and i use some samples all the time and that would make space an issue .

This is why I use PCMSynth

This is why I use PCMSynth for nearly everything. Every multisample can be individually tuned and edited in ways BB can't do...... only drawback, no pan for PCMSynth samples, but that's not really a big deal anyway
