7 year old can use Caustic! Josie's 1rst Groove!!!

She's been playing around with it, can easily navigate around the UI, loading sounds into SubSynth and PCMSynth, laid down some patterns herself, knows how to switch b/w pattern mode and song mode.
So today she asked to make a song. I set up a simple drum pattern for her to use (she picked the drum sounds she wanted) She did the rest. I helped her arrange the patterns in the sequencer window exactly how she wanted.
She told me how she wanted it all mixed together and added a few sound effect inserts!!!!
Here's the result of my 7 yr old's first Caustic tune (no advanced music theory, but she is a rhythm genius and a computer wiz)

Here it is:

That is VERY cool. Thanks for

That is VERY cool. Thanks for putting that up and posting here. I'll definitely use this as ammo if someone tells me the app is too complicated!

Awesome work Josie, keep it up !

My little man is 2 and shows some interest in the funny sounds that come out when he presses the keys, but still a ways to go before he can make a track. It's so cool to watch him learn to use these tablets. He can already scroll to browse for his favorite shows, hit play, and pinch zoom to fit the screen, crazy!

Alot of my drum breaks that I

Alot of my drum breaks that I chop up can be readily had if you search for them.... the popular ones to search for: Amen, Apache, SoulPride, Think (several parts) HotPants, SesemeStreet, ColdSweat, SweetPea, DontChangeYourLove,Do the Do,FunkyDrummer (oh yes this kicks pitched up at high tempo), FoolsGold,LifeCould,PlasticJam,SingASimpleSong....... the list goes on and on. I've grabbed a few jazz drum looops as well, but be careful, alot of them are swing style and will sharply contrast the "march style" used in most breakbeat and dance stuff.

I spent an enormous amount of time chopping my breaks into individual segments, so I'm not giving those away. I may consider selling sound libraries with break-bits like these, but I'm not sure about the legalities of doing so, even though I sampled and edited and chopped them myself from scratch...

Yes, Rej, 2 year old---- no

Yes, Rej, 2 year old---- no not gonna learn that much just yet but you never know. Josie is 7, and very bright and very hands on. I just got a dual screen setup on our desktop, and she is already loading up things on each screen (skype on one screen, angry birds space ---she is a pro at that--- on the other screen).

I will be teaching her more in depth music theory so she can actually create music, also teach her drum theory, and then teach her the art of mixing and recording. She already knows about wave files and some of the features and aspects of analyzing and editing and such.... its crazy. But she was sooooo excited about her first tune she made and is ready to learn more.
