Caustic Song file (optional):
Hello all.
It's my first experience. Jean Michel Jarre. Oxygen part 4. Made only using CAUSTIC 3.0 for Android. Only synthesizers and drum machine, no samples. I didn't have MIDI file, just my ears, errors may occur. Also, mixing and mastering on the phone - it's so difficult.
Happy listening!
Sorry for English, I'm from Russia. :)
It's nice, maybe a little mechanical, however, it's largely a carbon copy of the orignal so I guess if that was your goal then well done.
Personally I would have gone to town on it and given it massive bass and drums and turned it into some kind of industrial piece of evil... but that's just me.
My latest track on show and tell

Yes, you're right. I wanted to make everything as close to original only by means of a CAUSTIC synthesizers.
Not too bad! I used to listen to this 25 years ago (i was 10), so your version made me smile!
Some of my best song concepts have come from attempting to emulate another artist's sound or technique...whether I got it right or not!
¿que onda, pachuco?
I was recently thinking of taking a song I knew pretty well, and try to recreate it also. I wanted to tackle Walk, Don't Run by the Ventures, but I got started on it, and ended up making something of my own. I enjoyed the listen. Good sound from the synths.
I have not heard of this artist, if you hadn't of said it I would have still said very good sound on the Caustic synths, regardless of the source.
I think most artists get their start illustrating others work(for my first job, all I ever did was illustrate mother natures work into a topography map!), nothing wrong with it! It's called a mentor and musical influence.
Welcome to the community!

I recognise that little tune, and for some reason I love it....
BTW, Добро пожаловать на форум, Моя жена из Новороссийска, she moved here in 1999.... I've had the blessing to visit there twice.... beautiful country, rich culture and history (oh the stories I could tell) my second trip there, stayed almost 2 months, it was an experience I will never forget. Черное море is the most beautiful body of water I've ever seen (the colors change daily and is rich and unique every time I've been to see it)
Nice work, especially for your first track.... look forward to more.
Niiiiice. I love JMJ. Very cool faithful reproduction.
This is very good Andrey! The sounds and programming are very close to the original. Amazing when you think about how many synths JMJ probably used to make this and you produced it on a phone...! Such is the power of Caustic.
Nice and impressive work for your first experience with Caustic!
Thanks very much for the comments.
As you can see from my nickname , I'm 38 years old. I'm not a musician, my profession - the deputy of chief designer on the shipyard in St. Petersburg. But in my youth, I played in a band on bass guitar. Now I just keep buying the tools and several times a year I record yourself for fun . Just experiments. I have 4 guitars (electric, acoustic and bass ), 2 synthesizers , piano, 13 (!) flutes and a lot of equipment and effects. All this is as useless trash.
CAUSTIC surprised me very much. Now I need 10 seconds to get started . And most importantly - sound real , it's not a toy! Now I don't need my Korg workstation or computer. All I have in my pocket! Unfortunately, I know that I didn't have the patience and talent to get a good end result. And I don't want this. Just the process itself - is the satisfaction and happiness.
Sorry for English again.
Ahh yes love this song and well done on recreating it. So glad you kept it soft and the vibe mellow. Excellent job for your first tune. More please.

Hearing you loud and clear Amaru. No need for apologies for your music or speech. You are reading and sounding just fine.

Не извиняться. Ваш английский понятно .... Я продолжаю учиться мой русский ... and other languages too, parang sa aking tagalog, ay talaga ganda matuto kasi mukha parang musik ng teoriya.... It's all good
pablo, you have to think about the technology of 1976 when Oxygene was released. (Wow, is it really 37 years ago?)
To get the power of a todays phone then you had to fill halls... (I always use to say: "Then bits were moved by hand - one by one...")
But nevertheless Amaru did a really good cover. I love it.

Seriously? I thought he was world famous. Just goes to show how dangerous assumptions are. I'd say that JMJ and Kraftwerk were probably the first introduction to electronic music that most Europeans around the age of 40 had.

I think that you have done a terrific job with this one and all by heart. I am impressed.
Nice! Kinda has an ulrich schnauss feel.
very good coverversion....
Not only is copying a great way to learn but it can also be a very good thing to do if it is a artist that you do not understand that is supposed to be good.
Try it...
For example say that you hate Dubstep try to copy a Skrillex song or someone that has got a lot of cred and even if you do not like it afterwards at least you will understand why it is considered to be good...
This is the time the night and the year
