We did it! Again! Hope you enjoy this Caustic Warriors Collaboration: Community Jam #3!
<Details on the general idea at the end of this post>
RULES:
- Each person can use 1 FX slot
- Players can only use automation to craft their sound on the machine itself (cutoffs, ASDRs, Res, etc.), otherwise, no automation allowed
- The person mastering the final mix gets to use whatever FX they want to apply to any of the 14 open FX slots, as well as the 2 open slots in the mastering section
- 3 days per person (please try and stick to this)
- No 2nd round
- Person mastering the final product gets the freedom to adjust anyone's machine automation as they see fit

The general idea of what we're trying to do here (copied from the 1st Community Jam post):
Get 14+1 Caustic Warriors lined up to put a track together. The way it works is the first person adds a machine to Caustic, creates patterns, and adds it to the sequencer. Then the second person does the same thing, and so on down the line. When all 14 machine slots have been filled, then the +1 (15th) person mixes and masters it all. Caustic Replay then uploads it to SoundCloud under the username "Caustic Collaboration", and tags everyone's name to the track, and finally updates this initial post with a link to the final product on SoundCloud.
I will do either 7 or 15, if there's no other volunteers.

Jason, I'm being an eager beaver. I've also had a little break since being abducted by the wanderlust that is Skyrim, so I suppose you could blame me. I don't want to rush it, though. It was also a pleasure to take part in a collaboration on a larger scale than my previous works... I have a good feeling about this one, not just because of my recent ideas but also because we all seem to have agreed on a more concise set of guidelines.
Anyways , I'm approaching what many would call rambling, so, guys, let's get ready to make some more sweet, sweet music!

Thanks! Are you allowed to minor modifications to stuff before you like EQ tweaks or whatever to get your sound in the mix or do you just leave that as a nightmare for the last guy to handle?

If you need to tweak some EQ's to help with your own work then go ahead, but try to restore them before you pass the file on. No need to prepare for the final mix, the chaos is part of the fun mixing things like this IMHO :)

it would be nice to see something more melodic happen...but part of what makes the collaboration fun is the unpredictability of it...you should join in kboog...its best to not listen till its your turn...that way its fresh when you first hear it.

Maybe. But as I've learned from some bizarre mashups, sometimes very different styles can perfectly compliment one another. Fear Factory vs Lady Sovereign? Metallica vs Michael Jackson? Shadows Fall vs Nelly? I hate to say, but these combinations have worked well.... But I'm rambling again...
