So, there is an app for android called memory boost-ram optimizer (costs about 3 bucks for the dull version) that has helped ne to run caustic with less lag.
I usually turn off all apps that are running and use the memory boost app before i start programming in caustic and if i notice things getting clogged up i ll tame a second away from music work and run it again.
It s by no means a cure all but i ve noticed a great improvement and it s been worth it.
Full version, not dull version; damn this thumbs.
Have you gone to options and where it says audio api select opensl es and where it says internal latency select high, you have to be on a newer version of Android os though
Yes, thanks. I have that set up.
Why would one select the "high" setting for latency if one wants to reduce latency?
Live in Harmony with All
High? Anyway, what's the lowest latency devices out there? I have a Sony Xperia zl and a Galaxy note 8. Both have above average performance/specs. Yet I cannot play live because of lag. Is iOS any better?
Yes, on IOS there is almost no latency
Regarding latency numbers, is there somewhere this is displayed in the app? I seem to remember once it was, but don't see anymore.
Yes, I don't understand how people can say "my device has xxms latency", how do they calculate that ?
I believe Rej once mentioned tapping the keyboard loudly whilst recording with a microphone. Then the delay time between 2 peaks of the recorded can be measured, the 2nd peak being the sound output.
