The MIDI/Android problem partly solved using Windows

After some thinking i have found a way today to make patterns easily with my akai mpk midi keyboard. I have an Android device without midi support.

So, I send over the song I work on to my PC (e-mail, bluetooth or bit torrent), store it in the Caustic folder 'Songs', open caustic, click LAUNCH - and there it is. Now you can use your midi keyboard in your Windows device - make the patterns you need much faster, save the song and send it back to your android and change/edit the sound there.

If you want to, you can also make a desired pattern on your PC and send it as a song to your android. You open it in Caustic with your Android device, select all the notes, copy from there - launch the song your'e working with, and paste the pattern in there. Yay!

So why this back and forth file transferring? Because the Windows version of Caustic does not have all the sounds and packages that can be bought in Play Store, and some Android devices don't support Midi keyboards.

If you already know this, oh well. I didn't! ;)

Cheers,
-Britt

EDIT: It's some hours later, and I must have done something that made the midi keyboard *not* writing notes in pattern mode. That's strange...?

I suppose that the Caustic

I suppose that the Caustic sound packs available on Android can be opened on the PC if you rename them with the .zip extension. Then you have to install the sounds in the correct locations by hand...

I didn't have to rename the

I didn't have to rename the files to move them to Windows. I did have to copy and move them up in the file tree on my Nexus 7 tablet before I could see them when I plug it into my pc and then move them to the Caustic file for Windows. Works like a charm.
