Make yr beatbox sound more "human"

This may be old hat to many of you but a good trick to know if you don't...

You can record reverb swells live on the beatbox while in song mode  (a.k.a. automation) and it will make your drum hits sound less static, like velocity changes but more like "velocity changes with in a live room" . Set the reverb  to taste. The last thing I used this on I wanted a pretty dry drum sound throughout but put in a fair amount of swells pushing knob any where from 9 o'clock to 3 0'clock. Try it out...

PocketKitPro.... It is the

PocketKitPro.... It is the velocity layers of how drums sound when being struck, the complex building of harmonics and cabinet noise (i.e. snare springbed) and your stick never hits the same place twice, give its unique natural sound. PKP addresses those issues, although not the way I would truely like to, but with being a mobile app and limited resources for devices, my methods work and sound quite well for your tracks of any type.

Multi-velocity samples for dedicated BeatBox kits doesnt seem likely at this time based on previous discussions over the past year about it, thats why I made PKP....

But going back to your method..... Add a Compressor at the end of your drums' signal chain. It will pump up loud drum hits and enhance your reverb effect, giving a more punchy character.
