I first came into music when i was 5 years old (now 17) by playing on my neighbours keyboard. The first song i could play was jingle bells. My dad put me on piano lessons. I finished all the basic technics and was about to practice some real songs when i found my dad's old synthesizer, a juno-106!
It still worked and i connected it with some simple speakers. I immediately fell in love with the synth sounds and made all kind of melodies. Like 3 years ago i found out that music could be produced on the PC and i started out on my iPhone 3GS with alchemy from camel audio. like 2 years ago i found casutic and now it's my main driver!
My melodies are not 'just melodies' , they describe what i feel or what i think at the moment of producing. They flow into caustic almost automaticly from my head :p.
My main genre is hardstyle. i listen to this style since i was 11! I also like dubstep/DNB and hiphop/rap, I have already made songs in all these genres and im planning on continuing this! A good friend of mine (FL Studio pro) wants to learn me how to use fl studio and we are going to create tracks together in a couple of months. Also im planning on setting up a rap channel with friends and make music all together!
Hi! My turn. I'm Josh ,14 from Malaysia. I mostly produce dnb since I have been listening to it since I was 4! thanks to my dad,who was a producer up till 2005. I will listen to any genre of music, but my favourite would be Neurofunk. I am influenced by producers such as Noisia,Mefjus and the like. I am grateful because my parents support my work.
I'm Dima and I'm only 15 years old) I am from Ukraine, Kyiv, and I want to be a DJ from a day, when I had downloaded the Caustic app. I really love music, especially violin ( I play violin for 9 years))) I'm looking for a teacher on DJ, but it so expensive, so I'm studying alone(

For now at least I am Sawiton. Looking back on old save files, I have been a Caustic user since at least June of 2011. Bought it again recently to see what it looked like on a MciPhone (4s). I started following this website in the last 3 or 4 months and just became a member within the last month, mostly to join the Caustic Competition. I'm running Caustic on a first gen Samsung Galaxy phone and a POS Toshiba laptop. I run into RAM/ processor issues frequently. As Dave Hunter says "...you can use what you've got, here and now, to start making creative, expressive, and great-sounding recordings." Musically, I grew up in a household that enjoyed listening to music, and a fairly diverse mix at that. I started playing a real instrument in 5th grade, the clarinet, and had a good school music experience as a medium fish in a small pond. I started playing guitar several years later and have gotten to a point where I know I'm not all that, but I have fun. I can read music (basically) and am somewhat familiar music theory. My only other experience with a DAW is Renoise on a Linux box, plus messing around with some of the synths available on Linux. I'm very happy to hear Caustic works on Linux(!) although I don't currently have a Linux box. I'm also okay familiar with Audacity. I freaking LOVE Caustic. The interface is simple enough that I don't get TOO lost, yet I can see where the complexity and potential will take me to a very high quality level of production. I don't see a drastic learning curve, but I see what could be a nice gentle curve. I am also amazed at some the producers who do some just amazing work with Caustic, I have so much to learn! Thankfully there seems to be a good core of people on this forum willing to help. I'm looking forward to learning and sharing.

My name is ezell im a 17 year old from d.c . Not born there tho reay from cail.I been druming/making beats since i was five.used to make websites when i was 12 and a hardcore snr player on the most hated cod lol(top 5).Really dont think this matthers if your reading but im am black and my music is the embodiment of feelings that I will never show to anyone lol irl.
I am The Demon Shredder. i am older than the sun, and that is old enough i'd say. I was born in another realm but came to this one through a city in CA. I keep the urges to follow the dark whispers at bay with music. As long as i hear sick tunes, the world has no worries. Happy Recording!
I am FredW7. That's part of my middle name + last initial + the number of children I have. I am older than demonshredder. I grew up in S. California, but now live on the north end of the state. I am Old Skool, from rock-n-roll to alternative to some electric. I played trombone in high school and sing in church choirs and community chorale groups. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, The Rolling Stones, The Cars, Enya, and Blue Man Group comprise the major players in my musical background. My moods vary with the wind or the seasons, so I may have a different opinion one day to the next. My composing skills, totally lacking anything close to professional, are mostly used for my own entertainment. I'm always happy to hear exciting, new stuff even if I haven't a clue as to how to produce it!
Oh update in my life; i have a new goal in life. To live as a nomad traveling around rocking out in caustic, and other music trackers and taking on freelance labor/janitor jobs in every state, country and planet my imagination will take me ..
Hi, i'm Aakash age 20 from india state M.P.

Nice to see new names here!
Welcome, and enjoy it here and have fun with Caustic. The beta testing for 3.2 is still going on, but I guess ´the real thing´ is not too far from release.
Stay cool and ask questions, there´s a lot of skilled (not me) and helpful (me, if I know something) people here.
Also, under the tab ´Documentation´, there´s some instruction videos - and even more on Youtube.
I am Amel Kadribegovic aka Toxbox
I am from Bosnia and Herzegovina,
I work as a delivery man.
Nothing exciting though about my life. I live with my girlfriend for 3 years. I am getting married at the end of this year.
I love to produce music. It doesn't matter actually what genre it is. Important thing is that sounds nice and interesting.
Hi. Am Solola Olu Jacob by name. Aka jhazzy beatz. Am a nursing student in college of nursing in Nigeria. By December I should be a registered nurse. I started as a dancer. I dance to dubstep and future bass. So four years ago I was thinking of making dance music myself and combining different songs together to make one.. So I started djing. I was I a little bit popular then. I was invited to other schools to dj. Two years ago I wanted to remix songs in a different way like adding my own sound changing different things about music. So I grew interest in music production. I found ableton but couldn't work with it. And school was taking much of my time. So I was searching for mobile music making app. I found groove mixer and music maker jam. And lot of daws. Including FL studio mobile. But I wasn't satisfied. I gave up on that and started playing Drum pad 24 cos am a beast at finger drumming. Am a pro at that.. I do play with drum pad and have got friends that rap and sings. So I was having fun with that. Late last year I was surfing YouTube and I found caustic. I got it from the play store. I love it so I bought it. I was happy because it has all most of the stuff I want. I watched YouTube for tutorial since then have been making music with my mobile phone. I make Nigeria type beat. And now am into other genres especially future bass I love it so much. Recently I made a dubstep track. Check my sound cloud. You'll see that. Am also making trap but have not released them.. Have told couple of my friends about caustic and they love it.. Am a bad singer have got this growling voice. Lol. Am 19 years old. That's my official age. Am just getting started. Am getting better in making good music.. I will love to work with people on this forum for colab. And I love the way people are using caustic. Have listened to different songs on sound cloud that were made with caustic especially gygn vitrax menadax demonshredder gajoga tk ez Davion L!feup Chrisdmeek etc. And I love it. I think that's all about me +am the first born of the family of 5. Got a twin. Boy and a girl. And I make music with my friend swynk he uses logic pro but he's laptop had faults now we are both using caustic. He makes all genres of music. We made different colab but for now he's not on social network. I still feel like typing. My dream is to become a producer /dj.. And making sound packs cos I love tweaking. That's all for now. Jhazzy love yall
Hi there, I'm Luca and I'm living in Genoa, Italy. I'm 50 and I started studying piano when I was 9, then I left piano for classical guitar and I ended up at the age of 18 on bass guitar, that I played until present days. I'm married and I work as a van driver, transporting food for schools. From the first time I started listening other music apart from classical, I was always fascinated by synthesizer sounds so I ended up listening prog rock bands, just like Genesis, Pink Floyd, Yes, and other musicians that were using (sometimes abusing, as well) synths, like Kraftwerk, Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, Depeche Mode and so on. I also like New Age and Ambient music and I found in this great app Rej-dev made all that's needed to transform all soundscapes and sounds that are wandering around in my mind from a long time into something concrete.
Have all of you nice days and, whatever music you're listening or you like, never let it die. Music has the greatest power in raising you up when you think everything in your everyday life turns black.
Don't know why but Caustic seems to attract old fan of progressive rock, and old (computer) musicians. Maybe because they have used complicated DAWs and then gave up... And Caustic was a rebirth, because it's so simple and powerful enough ? I'm also 50 and a great fan of prog rock.
Don't known for others but in my case I still use big DAWs everyday. Caustic is refreshing as a compact but powerful notepad, with all the stuff contained in a single file. Having to deal with conversion between DAWs, it's often a pain to start on a platform and finishing on another one, despite the OMF format. You always miss a plugin, or loose precious takes. So, Caustic is a perfect tool for starting a project, then export stems and midi to a bigger system.
And for the progressive rock side, maybe this was a golden era for sound design and synth research, and veterans nowadays are coming from these times where you could only dream to hold such musical power in a small piece of gear.
Yeah, I am heading towards 40 and came from the whole MIDI daisy chain thing so mobile music is pretty fascinating to me as the brain. I still am addicted to the tactile things like Maschine and hardware sequencers, I still have a bunch from the 90's.
I also will probably never give up the big DAW thing either but uniting mobile and DAW is one of my future dreams as a developer.
The name is Nick Lilleberg.Born in fargo north dakota, currently living in San Antonio Texas . I grew up mainly learning heavy metal music . I used to buy tablature books like Metallica ,Pantera, and others and learn them all. I probably should actually be recording metal music but oh well the time will come. Caustic is reason why I can sleep at night .
Hi my name is Weldon, I live just outside of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - (the capital).
I took music lessons from the age of 9 until I graduated high school ... I went into the animation industry, then into the graphic design world, decades later I teach that stuff at a local college in Ottawa.
I play various physical instruments, keys & strings, a couple wind instruments & drums and simply love almost everything I hear made with Caustic!
Hi Everyone,
My name is Joe, but everyone calls me Jojo so feel free to use either or make a name up for me I'm not particular about these things. I love music in all its many wonderful forms and creating music is without doubt the most satisfying thing in life, after painting a great piece of art, taking a fabulous photo, eating a great meal....okay well it's up there as a great thing for me.
I have only recently started using Caustic and I have to say. WOW!!!! It has got me hooked. Stunningly good app and has pushed me back into making music after many years of not making music. Thanks Rej, you saved me from interminable boredom. Oh, forgot to say that I am retired and living life quite disgracefully thankfully.
I hope I can contribute in some way to this wonderful forum and please check out my tunes, they are something a little different. I will of course endeavour to check out everyone's thoughts and ideas also.
Killer_Joe is my Xbox name by the way, yes, us old folks do like the odd tumble in Call Of Duty or Destiny.
Hi! I'm Eli Page, guitarist/producer living in Detroit, MI in the US. I've been using Caustic for over a year now, first on my Android smartphone and then on my iPad. I work as a nurse on night shift but am also working on becoming a touring musician. Last year I released a 4-track EP with 3 of the tracks being made in Caustic! You can find it linked below! This summer I'll be releasing its followup LP, Alien Feelings, and nearly every song on this one was made in Caustic as well! The most recent update has really streamlined workflow!
I go by E9 for my solo project. The genre is what I call progtronica, a mixture of progressive rock/metal and electronica (downtempo, dubstep, and techno mainly). What a coincidence I see prog rock mentioned above! My music compositionally leans towards the former while execution-wise, it leans towards the latter. In fact, I originally started producing on Caustic cuz finding folks into Prog here in Detroit is like finding a needle in a haystack! My last 9 years I've focused almost exclusively on guitar. Hence, I'm a much better guitarist than I am a producer and have been blown away by what I've heard from a bunch of ya! My biggest influences include Dream Theater, Joe Satriani, Orbital, Daft Punk, Boards of Canada, Shpongle, and Rush although the actual list is quite extensive.
Still can't get over what an extensive app Caustic is and at such an affordable price. Looking forward to talking to and learning from you awesome Caustic Warriors! :)
I am Seth. Seeing that no one will read this, I'll start. I am currently turning grade 7. I started playing the piano just last year and I am using a Casio keyboard (don't know the model). I am into dance and the hip hop genre. Thank you Rej for testing my creativity with powerful software. =)
Thanks for being such a cool community, and most especially a huge UP to Rej, who has created an entire world (or many worlds, since we each create our own musical worlds using his tools).
I'm Kim, aka Elutris, a Caustic newbie from the little town of Santa Cruz, California. I'm a science writer by day and play music for fun and money on the side. Main acoustic instruments are flute and sax. Have played everything from classical to Celtic to jazz to funk, blues, and classic rock. I'm currently in two reggae/fusion bands, one with a rock influence (www.cruzah.com) and the other with an afrobeat influence.
I'm old enough to have dabbled with some of the original Moog and Buchla synths when I was an undergrad physics major at UCSD (they had an awesome experimental music program!). Loved all those patch cords and crazy repetitive sounds! Was hypnotized by early synth work by Subotnick, Carlos, Wakeman, Tangerine Dream, etc etc. Have been into dancing and listening to all kinds of EDM since early 90s, when it was shaking abandoned warehouses, remote forest encampments, and full moon gatherings. Always fantasized about having the tools to make this stuff myself, but never had the time/money until I came upon Caustic late last year. Blown away!
I'm very into live performance combining electronica with acoustic instruments/effects. Did this at last year's Burning Man with my flute and a cheap effects box/looper, and had an awesome time. Currently working with a buddy on improvisational dance music using two tablets and various software (mostly Caustic for me) to mix and match grooves, beats, and leads, as well as occasional instrumental solos. Needless to say, I am totally jonesing for Mike's Caustic Remix... In the meantime, here's my Soundcloud site with a few works in progress: https://soundcloud.com/user-284057540

Night after the I get a ticket for Phuture PRimitive and Bass Physics, (paid) for in case I ran out of Mexican Soda, and staff comes to me and tells me "if you don't have a ticket you can come in" and i was like 'oh i'm ahving a blast workin on a tune sippin on some stylin Mexican Soda, and showed him Caustic and was impressed. Everyone I've shown Caustic to ends up purchasing it. So I may just go everywhere jam out on it get more people hooked on Caustic than on the complicated social :D sites :D
(this site is easy to use) :D

Music has the greatest power in raising you up when you think everything in your everyday life turns black.
hi redvet66. We are in the same age league. Have fun with Caustic hope to hear something from you.

I tend to use only Reason now as my main DAW for the same "reason" that I love Caustic : you have everything you need inside.
And you are right, it's a source of wonder to have on your mobile device all you have dreamed to possess when you were younger...

Glad to be here.

Hello caustic crew,
Thanks for being such a cool community, and most especially a huge UP to Rej, who has created an entire world (or many worlds, since we each create our own musical worlds using his tools).
Well, nuff said. Thanks all!
