foldback distortion on accent drums

If you use a beat box a good way to make a chorus sound more heavy is to add another drum track and stick some foldback distortion on it you get a good nin heresy type chorus or beat ive been using this to beef up and add alittle character to boring choruses.

Yes, and if set up at just

Yes, and if set up at just the right sweet spot, can give a nice punch to your kicks and snares on some kits....

+1

I usually prefer overdrive

I usually prefer overdrive for my drum kits, but distortion + drums = awesome. Resampling can be extremely helpful in such things, for instance you can load your drum kit up, and export single drum shots at varying levels of distortion (and or other effects), load those samples into a pcm, and now you can switch to a distorted version of your kit without sacrificing the rack space for a second drum kit. Its a beautiful thing.

couldn't agree more, I

couldn't agree more, I recently decided not to use the beatbox for my main rhythms anymore, sample duration control (quanitized or snapped) built in filter + lfo (pitch modulated reverse snares!?) loop points, and the ability to have multiple versions of every sample to add a little bit of dynamics... the beatbox is awesome and all, but the pcm wins hands down in my book.

Yea I just think caustic 3 is

Yea I just think caustic 3 is awesome I think they've perfected it I mean it's enough for me I usually only use six tracks anyway if that but the new synths are killer

quite the opposite, I can

quite the opposite, I can fill a rack quick, but a third of the channels are clones of my lead sounds / drum kit that are there for extra layers of processing and such. I love the morphing, modulating, and shifting of sound that electronic music offers, and I could not be happier with the changes in caustic lately, we got loads of new tricks and toys for cutting tracks now.

That's why I use the PCMSynth

That's why I use the PCMSynth for the big PKPro kits..... run thru a modular for smooth room reverb effects = awesome sonic response for live drum feel, be it acoustic or electronic style...

the pcm kit in my current

the pcm kit in my current project has a bunch of stuff I ripped out of your extreme pocket kit, looking at the waveforms in the editor as I tweaked n tuned em with the other oneshots I assembled was educational and inspiring. some lovely waveforms in there sir
