Hi!
Everytime i use certain instruments like piano for example i get annoying distortion effects. How can i avoid this without reducing the loudness to a minimum?
I included an example out of my actual track...how can i make this piece loud and clear?
(i am using Caustic 3)
can you please attach the .caustic file so I can see what going on under the hood.

Caustic Song file (optional):
As shown on the VU meters on the PCMSynth and the mixer, your signal is clipping. If you clip you'll get distortion. I don't know how loud you need this track to be but even with the volume levels turned down until it stops clipping, it's plenty loud compared to other tracks. Part of the distortion is coming from the heavy amount of reverb and the amount of bass in the signal being sent to it too, you can always place a multifilter set to highpass or lowshelf to cut out the sub-bass.
Try setting PCMSynth level to slightly below 100% (so 11o'clock), then mixer to 0dB (12 o'clock) and bring master back up to 0dB as well.
If you need more volume in your ears, raise your phone's volume. That's the only part of the signal chain I don't control in the app.
Also if you record it at too low a volume, you can normalize the sample in the waveform editor after its recorded. The only time this is a problem is when you have a bad signal-to-noise ratio (when you normalize your sample the background noise will amplify along with the rest of the recording). Even this can be minimized with the noise gate in the editor, although it can chop up your sound if you're not careful. Watch the tutorials on YouTube if you're unfamiliar with these tools - I used Caustic for months before I realized these existed; I caused myself a lot of frustration by not doing my "homework".
¿que onda, pachuco?
Thanks so much you two!
Fixed all problems! I am happy! Super!
Kind Regards,
