I really enjoyed that - I struggle with house beats, and rarely manage that crisp, swinging simplicity. I tend to go overboard and throw BB after BB in and then have to try and sculpt the chaos/mess into a track.
I copied the steps note for note on my tablet along with the tutorial, I'll probably post a version soon
Awesome work, this is exactly the kind of thing I think helps THOUSANDS of users who are too shy or lazy to ask. If I had the time or talent, I'd make these myself. Just the right format, easy to digest and follow along using the app. I suck at YouTubing but I'll see if I can link this to my channel so that users can get to it from the app when they click on tutorial videos.
I'd love to see more of these if you have the time and inclination, including what "tweaks" you did to get that big sound for that loop.
Let me know if I can do anything for you in return, stuff like this really helps grow the app.
Oh and one small thing, the URL link you have in your video description is cut off and invalid.
Very nicely done..... This is a good step-by-step tuitorial of setting up a groove in just minutes. I wish I had time to move forward with my series of video projects sitting in the wings -- grrrrr.... But you have done a great job, showing how it's done.
Keep 'em coming, alot of new users will benefit from this, and learn to dig into Caustic much faster, by seeing things like this.
Pleased you like it. In hindsight I wished I had spent longer on producing it as I wasn't too sure how useful it would be to people. In merit to Caustic, it shows just how quickly you can begin creating a tune.
If the video does attract interest I'll most definitely do more videos and tutorials. Caustic is a great product.
@Rej - I've fixed the link in the description and also added a little more context on Caustic. I'll always add a link back to this site with any (potential) future videos I produce.
On a side note, I never seem to receive forum notifications to topics (I think) I'm subscribed to.
Okay, here's my WiP version based on copying http://www.singlecellsoftware.com/user/475 's excellent tutorial, note for note, from YouTube and then making a few tweaks along the way
This would make a great basis for an epic deep house meets acid type track - thinking Danny Tenaglia, Junior Vasquez, Underground Sound of Lisbon etc.
This tutorial is so good that I actually vote that it would be included in google play and playstore Caustic app page and as a link in caustic menu. Really, I remember when I first tried Caustic, and cause I've never done any music production before it looked intimidating and I've decided not to install it. Thank god I installed it later and figured that the beast is so easily tameable. What I'm trying to say is - if there was a tutorial like this right in the apps google play page, then I would be so into it right there. But maybe this isn't possible cause there's a limit on how much videos can be in the app page, I dunno, if it's possible that would be great.
Absolutely nothing wrong with that groove, gotta be worth expanding that into a full song. Liked watching your technique too!
really nice tutorial, and agreed, great groove!

thanks - I thought that if I shared a .caustic file it would encourage people to pick up and play with it.
I may post it in the collab forum if that's okay with you?
