Mod Exiter (and other Causticpacks)
More than a simple 3 and EQ, this exiter/enhencer trick with machine input in a modular can help you color any machine sound.
signal is split in three bands, each one feeding a filter, and2 crossover help to add more or less separation to the frequency bands. Each filter is followed by a saturation module: just add a small amount to let the frequency shine trough the mix. (or crank it up and add some dirt!)
the mixer in the last modular stage let you mix the three band outputs as well as the dry source. A random lfo add a subtle autopan to add some "mojo".
You can find a Causticpack including presets and setup for free here: https://sites.google.com/site/thecausticsessions/home
Check out the others Causticpacks:
Mod Bandisto: A multiband distortion: from light crunch to heavy fuzz. (Adjustable enveloppe, random changes to frequency/reso to make the result less mechanical)
Mod Delay: filtered delays, suitable for all styles, great for dub, ambient.
Mod Rotopan, A fake 3D pan
Mod Drumsmasher: Drum sound designer in a modular. Used dry or mixed xith the source, from subtles changes to total madness. Share your presets! (but cool to leave sk mention inside ;-)
more to come...
Thank you, I have used Mod Delay in a WIP and it's great...

Nice work Skarabee.... You kinda jumped the gun on some of what I'm working on; but thats ok because I have a batch of tricks up my sleeve for my upcoming Builderz Pro content pack currently in the works, very very exciting stuff here.
Rock on, your innovations are unique and jist plain awesome
Thank you people. Sorry jblann1, I hope I didn't step on your toes. But i'm sure you have some nice and genius tricks in your Builderz that will help Caustic Warriors. (I made a link to your site on my page)
Hey no apologies at all necessary. You do fantastic stuff.... It's all good. No worries
While I'm thinking of it, you should set up a Signature Graphic that links directly to your project site, so anytime you post or share something anywhere in the forums, people can jump right to your site right away....... I will soon have two graphics, one extra one to the big Builderz Zone when it goes live later next month.
Good idea, maybe I will use the little golden scarabee that I put on my skins.
bingo.... go for it.
Hey mannn !!!! Thankz on the caustic resource website! Dope!
Hey Skarabee, I tried using the mod bandisto but noticed it only works if you have the send note to carrier button turned on but I can't figure out why its doing that. I wanted to just use the modular as an effect and would rather trigger notes from the source machine.
I think in some cases, it makes it easier if you are routing another machine through the Modular as an FX or other DSP bus for that synth, so you can audition while tweak your parameters in the Modular without hopping back and forth..... If you have the Modular Aux set-and-forget module, then use the original synth machine for notation and audition...
Are you working on something? I don't think you've mentioned it :-p ;-)

Sound doesn't come out if you haven't set "send to carrier", because I used a ADSR to control the machine env., and this one is only triggered by notes played by the modular's pianoroll. This is by design: As guitar distortion unit, you don't have a wet/dry, so the part is written and played by the modular, the source synth being muted in the mixer. I have another modular patch using saturation, the Mod Exiter: in this case, the processed sound need to be merged with the source: With low sat. settings, you have an exiter/harmonic enhancer, but you can use it with more drastic levels, put down the direct level on the 6:1 mixer module, and you have another kind of multiband distortion...
For the Bandisto, if you want to use the source machine piano roll, just connect the machine input directly to the crossover module. I'm working on another version of the Bandisto wich will add some dynamic control to the filters. Check the Caustic Ressource in few days.
bingo......
Cool thanks!
