Nice! This is trance, I love trance and this is nice. Nice build up. Bringing in the claps, good interlude.
3/4 the way through sounds like the turntable got switched to a new record. I can see where the version of caustic and it's 32nd notes would go good right at the end ...... pop and out!
Wow I believe that is the first Trancy track ever posted on this forum. Mike would give ya a hug if he could. One of these days I'm gonna give it a shot.... I had some cd's in the past with stuff like this. I liked it when they mixed in some ring-modded mildly overdriven 303 in it too.... I remember an old cd from '92 titled "Tresor II" (german label I recall) that had really cool trance grooves in different flavors. Man, now I'm gonna have to sit down and put my Dance&Dubstep pack to work and pop out something...
Been working on it off and on for a week. Got a 3 year old and a 4 week old so spare time is scarce.
I'm very interested, I've been programming for years but am only just starting android app development. I'm going to try and create a wav slicer app to help with creating pcm suitable samples for use in Caustic, going to a while though!
One pcm is for the reverse cymbal and clap so they could have reverb applied whilst keeping the kick and hat in the beatbox with no reverb or delay. The other pcm uses your dubstep bass preset ( thanks j!).
Other than it's all subsynths. I did discover I could use the auto-wah as an additional filter which is what I did here.
Ok, well consider yourself on the team when I get the code straitened out. It would be nice to have atleast one person to bounce things off occasionally with the Java mon. :)
I will get it nicely commented and up on GIT, do you have a GIT account or do you use SVN?
I'll also put a simple HelloCaustic project up for you to take a look at.
Thanks Mike I'll take a look. This is my last track for a while cos I want to start app dev sooner rather than later. Had to get this tune out of my system first though! ;o)
If time and space allow me, I'm hoping to start learning Java for Android programming myself as a total code-newbie, I think would be a good thing to dive into...
Jason, as I said in previous conversations with you, I could get you going within months I'm sure on your schedule. Like I said, when you actually have something you want to do with programming Java and Android you learn 10 times faster.
So when your ready let me know and I'll hook you up, get you on the team and start the new revolution thanks to Rej. :)
But others note, this is basically my full time hippy job these days, so expect a lot of action in the next 3 months with the core and CausticLive. I'm not kidding about this, it's not going to be a "Side project" I am in full development of it. Dabbling in Apache Flex and compilers at the same time. ... Plus some 3D modeling and Unity3d with a little trance music on my sequencer setup.
Great track bojeroo, well done. I love trance too and have tried but never quite can get it to sound right somehow. I've got some great trance sounds so will have to give it another go.

"3/4 the way through sounds like the turntable got switched to a new record."
Yeah, I know what you mean Mike, that's partly why I called it Mutagen, cos it mutates from one track to another.
I've been wanting to do a track like this for a while and I'd not heard anything similar done in Caustic to date, so thought I'd have a crack.
Thanks for the feedback Mike!
How long did it take you to make?
I have wanted to do a trance track like this as well but my time right now with programming is getting in the way. :)
BTW Are you interested in the Java Caustic core at all? (from a programming, developing Android apps point of view)
I just remember you saying you did programming.
Mike

Thanks for the comments all! Might do a 12" mix at some point as I'd really like to extend the section towards the end after the change occurs.
