Hi everybody. Good start! Currently downloading the last three versions (with a very bad connection...). I have a little problem with my eyes and can't work on screen today. Will add my part Sunday to RockC, if my eyes are Ok.
Added bass to the intro/bridge section. Pretty much taking my lead from the rhythm guitar but not copying it exactly. Also added a fuzz on the bass. Not really sure how it sounds, as I'm using crappy headphones, but it can be fixed in the mix later, right?
In between, I took Skynexia last version (rock1 sky3) and added something in the "blues" part. Tell me if you agree...I've put a bass line (pattern 9) just to follow the fundamental. Steph can erase it and play his real bassist part.
I like what you added:) I also think a piano sound will go great with it. When my turn is up again I'll see what I can do to manipulate the subsynth to play along with it.
We have still a free slot (#10). If it is not used, maybe you can pick it to add a piano part. A PCM could be used, with maybe some other samples added in the "builderz" style if we need some additionnal sounds.
I could sample me playing piano overlayed with strings on my keyboard. Y'all let me know because I will need time to alter/change the original preset sound. Which with my setup I will have to run it through another one of my keyboards to alter it.
Skarabee nice job man. Can you add some leading notes on bar 111-112 and a sustained or some smoothed out notes @ bar 128. I think it would make the transitions smoother. Try it and let me know what you think.
Nice... I was thinking of your blues style guitar starting 1 or 2 beats before the 6/8 drums begin. We can have guitars or keys lead in to the 6/8 section.
I'll wait for SG and Steph. Would it be okay to add another PCM and me sample playing basic background chords on piano with strings to harmonize with the lead. Like I said, I'll have to alter the preset sound which I will do on one keyboard and run it through the Oasys and change it more. Or I could use a free piano sound and combine it with free strings, export it and sample 16 bars playing onto two keys like I would do with a keyboard in the PCM. That way there will be room for others to sample into if need be.
I'm not sure about strings... I think organ just holding the chords and a piano lifting the chords but not playing guitar parts? Feedback? We are talking 6/8 section. Kinda make it smooth...
No, I wouldn't play the guitar part. I'm talking playing the chords lightly in the background. The first key the lead is in is Bbm so I would play that chord and hold it not individual notes.
I can write a different one. No problem:). I want hear what SG and Steph add. Also before the 2nd organ repeat solo, I didn't put a whole lot in there because I think the lead should be there. Which I would want hear before I change the 2nd solo so I have a better idea where to take it. Once all that's done, I'll add the background piano, change the organ 2nd solo and add more subsynth if need be based on what SG and Steph add.
Hey MFG, per our little side chat earlier, I just peeked at the latest update to this project. Wow this is so sweet. I will upload a short audio rendering of what I did on this track so far I think will shock you guys to how good this is going to sound in the end.
This collab is simply amazing. Very fun to listen. Skarabee, just wow man.
Hmmm theres something wrong with the subsynth. When i render the song it is oscillating something badly..... The rest of my rendering went well...... Ill have to check on this....
I was thinking "squad" as in, a small group of soldiers/warriors. Since we're "Caustic Warriors" (hey, I didn't make that name up) I figured five or six of us make up a squad.
I'm not good at names. I'm thinking instead of squad or squadrant. Combine Caustic and squadrant and you get Caudrant. I can't find a meaning for that word.
Ha ha, you guys remind me of my very first band I "played" in. We had it all, spectacular show with all the right moves, artist names, custumes, and a cool name which I can't remember ATM. I think we really could have gone far... If we only spent some time actually learn how to play together :D.
Anyway I really enjoy following this thread and I regret now that I didn't jump on the train while I had the chance. Great collab guys.

Okay, who has next up?
Caustic Song file (optional):
Could'nt wait till tomorrow...
Based on the RockC tracks. Guitars made with my new toy, a yamaha THR, (mini amp). The chorus is written in song sequencer.
Caustic Song file (optional):
Added my parts to Skarabee's version, easier that way.
Caustic Song file (optional):
You guys rock... Gonna try to make it longer. We can replace or move other stuff later.
Made it longer, wanna see how you guys feel transitioning from 4/4 to 6/8 to 4/4 again.
As music progresses I'll work in more fills.
Feedback?
Caustic Song file (optional):
I'll add more to it. Can't work on it until later tonight. Will have something for you tomorrow.
I will add bass as StrangeGravity adds rhythm guitar, so my part works with his.
Here you go:)
Caustic Song file (optional):
I'm back. Who is working on the song?
You are... :)

I know I'm not in the band, but I really wanted a Buddy Rich style drum solo around the 86 bar mark. :D
My Soundcloud profile is _dredge_

Really enjoying this.
Done. Added some notes in the break (108-112) and the sustained end of the "blusy" chorus (harmonized).I moved the last drum part too.
(didn't change the name of the file)

OK, let's do it. :)
I've been listening to it at work this Am.
Also instead of repeating the organ solo, do you mind writing a different one?
I know, I know...

When Steph is finished, I'll take it next. Got the piano part done.

Caustic Song file (optional):
OK.. Taking it... :)
I like it sky...
Thought you were going to wait until it was done to check it out.
So will you be doing the mixing and mastering then, Jason?
What's our "band" name? I nominate "Caustic Warrior Squad".
I'm stePH; I play bass for Caustic Warrior Squad. Yeah, I like the sound of that.
CW Squad? All pretty people with no substance?
How about Kaustik... ? I don't know...
Bit under the weather...

Lol, don't mind me... Everyone around me is sick... @home @work so might be the case of the grumps.

Used a band name generator... Came up with lol... Caustic candy...
