Caustic Song file (optional):
I started this project a couple of months ago to see if I could use the modular synth to emulate gated drums, well it worked just as I suspected but I lost interest in the track and forgot about it. Then something happened in the SingleCell community, some guys started to add vocals to their tracks using Jason Blann's vocal model. The result was much better than I thought by just inspecting the signal chain, but I thought there must be a better way than Jason's method so I started experimenting on my own. After a while I had not only created a nice vocal process strip but also a simple guitar amp simulator, so everything you hear was created and mixed within Caustic 3 alone ;)
I had to come up with some lyrics for the project but I'm afraid my inspiration isn't that great ATM, so please excuse the cheese :D
Lyrics:
Verse1:
You wanna rock, indeed.
A mobile phone is all you need.
A small device, is my advice.
Fits in your pocket and feels so nice.
You need an app, for sure.
Plenty of them in the Google store.
Which one to choose, is up to you.
Mostly depends on what you want to do.
Bridge:
For me of course there never was no doubt.
Caustic's the app let the word get out.
Verse2:
A tiny app, that has it all.
Full featured DAW's never been this small.
Subtractive synth, and PCM.
Additive pads and nice FM.
Rocking organ, a drum machine.
The modular will make your track extreme.
Don't hesitate, your bills can wait.
No other app will make you sound this great.
Bridge:
As soon you hold it firmly in your hand.
Caustic will take you strait to wonderland.
Chorus:
Caustic App, We gonna rock until we reach the top.
Caustic App, no-one ever gonna make me stop.
Try and convince me that it's not enough, Caustic App is real hot stuff.
Caustic App, We gonna rock until we reach the top.
Verse3:
At Singlecell, the place to be.
addictive people there just like me.
Show off your work, have a chat.
Free stuff to get don't you know about that.
Meet all my friends, they all so nice.
Their always there when you need advice.
No-one is mean, That I can tell.
If someone try, Mike will give them hell.
Bridge:
Go on and sign up it's all for free.
Together we will write history.
Chorus:
Lol! Love it... I love the taste of cheese in the morning! Pretty good sounding vocal and guitar quality.

Man - that's like synthetic Van Halen (Hagar era) - slick, cool and more than a little Edam!

....
Thanks James, Van Halen was a great source of inspiration for me during the 80's. But I think they lost most of the energy when David left the band, they had a few great hits with Sammy though. I agree that this track have a hint of Halen's style but that probably most because thats my favorite rock niche.
Ha ha, thank's Jason. Have a look at those modular signal processors I made, I think you can develop them even further. I intend to upload them to the preset area along with tutorials (they are a little complicated), but it will take a while before I have those ready
Thanks I like cheese too, especially with some bread and a bottle of red wine
.
I peeked at your SongFile..... you have developed some interesting models there for guitar and vocal.... that's cool... you took an idea and made your own.
Again well done.
EIP 15 minute remix..... couldn't help myself. This is such a fun track made in a very innovative way. I'm impressed

Caught a little Steve winwood on the solo.
Haha, that's brilliant, nice work Pan!
mindfool
Thanks, don't think I ever heard anything by Steve Winwood need to check that out :)
Thanks mindfool :)
Ha ha, now I feel like a complete fool. Turns out I've heard his songs a lot, especially those hits from the 80's. Somehow I didn't connect his name to those songs, don't know how that happend but I blame it on the radio :D.
Best Caustic Ad ever! Sounds really good!
From another child of Van Halen (pre Hagar era)
Keep on rockin', Pan !
Hahaha..This is Awesome!
As always, Enjoy the Trip!

Hmm, I had a listen to this on my phone via the soundcloud app today and it sounded really slow. At least 5 bpm slower than the 130 I made it in, but the pitch sounded right. I think I heard something similar a few months ago but I wasn't sure at the time. Have anybody else noticed this?
SUPER COOL!

Maybe your mind is playing tricks on you.....
Maybe your mind is playing tricks on you..... I havent noticed any pitch/tempo changes from SC...
Guess your right Jason, but I could almost swear it sounded slower. Since the player using buffering it shouldn't be network lag, that usually manifest in short breaks. But my phone has been acting little strange lately so maybe that's the problem or as you say I maybe only imagined it :D
Thanks CR :)
Nice one sir! I didn't expect this! You gave me an idea that Caustic is not just for electronic music, it is also for other type of music. You open my mind that this app can also be used in making backing tracks or covers in rock music. Great job sir!
Thank you N.V.I.V and you're right about how competent this app is. The only real limit it has is the imagination of the user, if you can think of it then Caustic can do it. All you have to do is figure out how ;).
Absolutely true Pan65. In using this, for me, user friendly app, you have to be creative to make such a different kind of music.
Ugh! Now this tune is stuck in my head!

Thanks
So does this mean that rej is the "genie" in the bottle? Or the other way around, caustic been the genie and rej the bottle. And Jason is the magic carpet? Now I have gone and confused myself.
Who's on first?
Lol... Agreed.
Genie, Magician whatever. At least Rej is the guy supplying the magic box so we can create all those fancy tricks we do. Right?
Mohahaha, My evil plans is working, soon the whole world will be paralyzed by my cheezy song and then I will take my rightful place as the ruler of the universe. No-one will escape, no-one...
Ok, Guys... I finally got around writing instructions for the "Vocal Strip". You can find it in the preset area or by following this link.
I'll try to have something up about the Amp to in a few days
Yes, having something to do while my wife does grocery shopping is wonderful. Best trick ever!
You lucky ba***rd, I have to follow my wife into the shops and worst of all... I need to have an opinion about everything she's looking to buy. But luckily enough, if I behave like a good boy I get plenty of time for caustic when we get home
