Caustic Installation on SD card

Hello all,

Is it possible to install Caustic on an external SD card ? Are there any lost in performance in doing so ? I just purchased a new tablet and there is a 64 gig card mounted in my machine . Any clues ?

Thanks !

If it's on an Android Tablet

If it's on an Android Tablet running KitKat, I think (and I will stand corrected) that it is not possible to move apps to the SD Card, thanks to some bright spark at Android dev - My HTC One M8 does allow it (through an HTC file manager), but my hudl2 doesn't.

On my new Lenovo tablet , I have the " move to card " option available in " settings " . So I can move Caustic to the external card . Does doing so affect Caustic performances in any way ?

Thanks again .

It might affect startup time,

It might affect startup time, depending on the speed of the sdcard, but once the app is in memory, the should be no difference. The actual core of the app (the native library) stays on the internal partition anyway.

If it's one or the other, I'd

If it's one or the other, I'd prefer Dropbox integration with Caustic. As I have it now, I just move stuff I've saved in the current Caustic session over to the SD card by way of a file manager.
But it would be nice to be able to specify a location where you want to save your Caustic project or machine preset. (You already can specify a location to load from that isn't the default Caustic directory.)

If we get a Caustic update

If we get a Caustic update will all our projects be saved? ie all the sequencer data and all the settings etc, obviously with the work all saved. In other words, if there's an update will we lose anything?
