Caustic Song file (optional):
Andy Zamoran's recent experiments in sound are reminiscent of that early 90's period where artists like FSOL and Autechre were breaking new ground on every release and the world of electronic music felt like it was in a state of constant revolution / explosive evolution.
This is my little attempt to pay tribute to that sound - with a nod to high tempo electro too.
Was that a picture you took?
No, I searched for the phrase 'fundamentally wrong' on Google images and this picture was on the 2nd or 3rd page.
So no, definitely not my mine. I borrowed it although from a copyright perspective it's hypocritical of me to simply steal a photograph when I'm careful to make sure I buy all my own music, films, books etc

Hi James,its me again. :D
Once again i must say, after i made 3 remixes for you, that your tracks really have that oldskool feel to them, this one is no exception. Really awsome sounds!
I would like to make a remix if you dont mind,i already have something in mind for it.
Once again, awsome music....we should make a colab some time.

Thanks! And help yourself
Oldskool - yup, the early 90's was when I started going clubbing and listening to acid, techno, ambient etc
Collab? - would be happy to but I seem to make it a slow process!

This is excellent James, and perfectly proves the point you made in the "Sapling" thread about use of experimentation in your tracks. Those short vocal samples are awesome! This does remind me a bit of FSOL. I still remember how blown away I was when I first heard Lifeforms many moons ago. I'd never heard anything like it - like music from another world! It still sounds sublime today, although they surpassed even that with Dead Cities imho.
mindfool
Thanks James. After listening to it for a few times,i think i have a theme formed inside my head. This time i might keep the BPM,who knows?
As for the collab....when i get some free time and some stable connection i will send you a message. ;)

I reckon I'm around 'Expander' period FSOL in my ability - a great record but much more post-rave with shades of hardcore, techno, drum'n'bass etc. Lifeforms was a step change into uncharted territory, in turn Dead Cities is just scarily brilliant.
'My Kingdom' to 'We Have Explosive' to 'Dead Cities' itself stand out and that's just from a skip listen now

Really cool track James, love the vocal stabs. I feel like you're a walking encyclopedia of the evolution of dance music! It definitely has that early 90's dance sound to it
My Soundcloud
the vocal stabs came from someone here from a caustic file posted in 'Show and Tell' - almost surprised it wasn't one of yours Dan, you make better use of vocal samples than most of us

Ah right. Hah, thanks! Well as it happens I am currently nearing the end of my latest track, which does indeed feature a few vocal samples! Just trying to figure out whether it works better with or without them though...
My Soundcloud
Its been too long Dan...is this next one a remix or original?
♬ Lu!G
I only seem to manage about 1 track per month LuiG! This next one is an original track, with some reverse vocal 'pad-like' sounds in the background

Sounds interesting...can't wait to hear it!;)
