Do you use dropbox?

Dropbox came installed on my Samsung Galaxy S3, and it's really handy

there is an auto upload feature that automatically backs up any photos I take, I was wondering could I do the same for my caustic folder?

anyone doing this? know if it's possible?

can't find anything about it online but I might just not be using the right technical jargon

cheers

well.  DropBox.com  they have

well.  DropBox.com  they have a nice little walkthru video animation on how it works.....  For moving or cloud-storing large files that you can't send by email, DropBox makes it easy, and it's free up to 2gig.... I and other users share Caustic Songs that way.   I can share wav files back and forth from other people (such as vocals, tracks, mixes etc.... when collabing on projects etc...)

I use it on my pc and phone/tablet.

I have the general jist on how it works,

what I'm asking about is, at the moment when I take a photo, as soon as I connect my phone to wifi, it automatically uploads the photos to dropbox

I want to make my caustic folder automatically upload too

That might be something to

That might be something to check in any DropBox settings..... I personally don't like the idea of simply automatically uploading personal files to a cloud server without my knowledge..... something bound to go wrong when you don't want it to.....   tread with caution there.

It can't be done via the app

It can't be done via the app itself yet, but there are 3rd party apps that can do it for you ....

DropSync I've tried and found to be quite nice.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.dropsync

The free version only maps one folder, but if you set it to sdcard/caustic/ you'll probably be fine. Note that sync'ing large files over the network, even WiFi, can be slow.

great Rej,  will check that

great Rej,  will check that out, would be nice to keep things uptodate in case any thing happened to the phone, bad enough losing the phone but losing your tunes and ideas and half completed work would be a real kick in the nads

Hey!    I use DropSync for

Hey!
I use DropSync for Caustic but for song files only... The free version only allows up to 5 megs files and one folder to be synched automatically. I started with the whole Caustic folder but some samples didn't get synched due to size, so I switched to song folder only. I transfer samples manually... They don't change that often. DropSync seems to be reliable for songs, however, be aware that if your song file gets bigger than 5 megs then it won't sync. Looks like there is a sale on the pro key for $4.99 at the moment... Limitations seem to be removed with Pro version... May give that a try one of these days.

I'm new Caustic btw, bought it a few weeks back when I was on a trip to Europe. I live in Seattle. I will send some sort of introduction later...

Cheers!
