Hi guys, while I never got

Hi guys, while I never got around to updating the market page with proper credits, Steve here made most of the ~90 subsynth patches in the Community Pack1, he's a real wizard with the synths.

As for my suggestion (am I allowed a vote?): I'd love to see more packs with one-shot vocal samples from the public-domain stuff on Archive.org. Cheezy techno/trance stuff like NASA mission radio clips and whatnot, I love those. Doesn't need to be Steve that does it, you might want to use your talent on more complicated things. Anyone with a WAV editor and some time can download the NASA recordings, trim out some good bits and map them to PCMSynth keys at one per-key. I'd do it myself but I have a list feature than spans two pages I should finish first :-(

I've got plenty of one note

I've got plenty of one note shots and stabs from some obscure funk and jazz tracks.I think i heard some years back that if you only sampled one note it was ok,but i am not sure how things may have changed on that front copyright ways.I might put them up as a freebie on the net ,not the market as they are too good not to be used.
I dragged the moogs out today and i have started a new batch of subsynth patches too.
Rej I know you got too many feature requests but I have another.
Any chance of when saving the beatbox files that we could have an option to create a dedicated sample folder for the kit,That would sure speed up kit making as I have directories of hundreds of samples and at the moment the workflow is a bit tedious.
The public domain and nasa stuff i will look at asap.
I know at the moment caustic sounds is lacking a good grand piano, synth and real brass, vibraphone, some more electric pianos, some killer portamento leads, wide range of special sound fx,female and male vocal shots, genre specific sound packs etc

Yeah, I've got a bug at the

Yeah, I've got a bug at the moment with the BeatBox when people modify kits from within a song and save it out. The trouble is if I create a kit, share my song with you (the samples are packaged into the .caustic file), but you don't have those raw samples and try to save a kit, it will crash the app when you try to load it. It's easy not to have it crash the app if the samples are missing (coming up in the next bugfix release), but ideally it should be possible to save all required samples into your .beatbox files (and the app could do this automatically if you are missing any).

And yes, this would probably make it easier for people distributing kits as well, not having to mess with the samples folders.

This might waste sdcard space if you've got lots of variations on the same kit, but I think its worth it to ease confusion.

The only thing would be that you should be able to browse within a kit to pick out one sample when assigning an individual channel's sample.

What type of sounds etc

I would like to see some soundscapes and atmospheric types of sounds to round off a superb piece of software. Knowing a little about synths, having been involved with them for over 35years, I think you have done a cracking job with Caustic, and wish you every success including financial.

@braaiman ,I will try to

@braaiman ,I will try to include some atmospheric pads when making the pcm patches. Also braaiman with your knowledge of synths I would be interested in your ideas for modular synths and new instruments.
@Rej if a page popped up giving you the option to make a new sample folder the kitmakers could use that and anybody else could just leave it at it is.Drum sounds dont take up too much sample space so it will be cool.

steve, is there a way I can

steve, is there a way I can private message/email you? I may be able to provide some synth samples to you that might help plug some holes in the community packs, but they need some work to turn into something generally usable.

Hi,

Hi,

I did adjust a setting on the site today that allows users to contact each other using their private contact forms (PMs). Let me know if this works for you, you should just need to click on the username of the user you want to contact and select the "Contact" tab.

For now this will use email, I'm in the process of adding more functionality to the site so it might actually be a real PM down the road. The user does not see your email though, only if they reply to you.

I am not gonna make any pad

I am not gonna make any pad sounds for pcm synth because its a F*&k to get loop points and Rej has a new instrument planned that seems more than capable of coming up with really good pads and soundscapes .I really want to check out what is available in the way of SF2's ,free and paid so I can work out what the gaps are and hopefully fill them.

Yeah, it's good to hear he has told somebody else about that algorithm. Means it might actually happen. You're right, no pad sample could beat what he has planned, that sythn sounds awesome.

I'm very new to Caustic, only

I'm very new to Caustic, only downloaded it a week ago, so there is still a lot to explore for me, but I would also like atmospheric sounds and soundscapes. I'm mostly into ambient music and weird electronics like Autechre, Aphex Twin (selected ambient works volume 2). So I'm also up for strange and metallic sounds like the ones offered by Zvon (Cage and CH). Love the NASA sounds idea, I'm thinking off sounds picked up by arecibo.

Oh and maybe some nature sounds like wind, rain, thunder, seawaves.

Hello! Thank you for your

Hello! Thank you for your good program. I use it on android smartphone to compose rhythms for the djembe drum. Often, I use it on the road. I really miss this tool as a djembe drum in your beatbox. Please if you can, add sound to three djembe stroke - a bass, tone and slap stroke. Ideally I would like to have a sound for three djembe drum - is small djembe (10 "), medium (12") and large djeme(14 "). In advance thank you for your efforts.

Here's my list:

Here's my list:
-Taiko drums, one shots preferably or maybe even some full Japanese BB kits.
-More Sitar samples for that middle eastern flavor.
-Classical instruments- full brass section, woodwinds, strings, etc..
