Jungle, breaks, or drum & bass?

Finished the track! The SoundCloud version is a LOT smoother. It only took around eight more hours to re-edit. The ogg file is the original version. Enjoy my weirdness.

Sorry iOS users. It's an ogg file.

I was just about done with a different track and found a sound that I liked. That was at seven this evening. Its, now, one in the morning and my dinner is cold. But I fed my soul, whilst making this track, and I'm okay with that. Need to make room on SoundCloud after making this a little less muffled. It could just be that I've had my headphones on too long. Either way; I like this track. Gotta shave a half second off, the time, as well. My new year's resolution was to try medicinal marijuana. I was a pothead twenty years ago. So, whatever...I knew what I was getting into. So I thought. A friend, that lives in San Fran & grows in a co-op, gave me one delicious brownie. That was on Saturday. It's, now, Wednesday and I've not needed a pain pill since Friday night! It works...it really works!

DISCLAIMER: I'm thirty-five years old and have a myriad of medical conditions. One of which is scoliosis. I had a growth spurt at the age of twenty-eight and my neck is crushing itself. If it's not legal where you live, and/or you are a minor, DO NOT partake in such deviant activities. Doing so could ruin your life! Well, mainly because of poor eating choices after using. Eg: I had bacon in all five meals on Sunday.

I'm surprised you havent

I'm surprised you havent discovered the benfits of medical marijuana earlier.  The pain pills they prescribe these days are just nasty.  Big pharma is an infuriating industry!  I myself dont partake in smoking anymore, as I get tested at work and its just not something I feel the need to do again.  I'm totally onboard with full legalization of it in all states though and decriminalization of ALL illegal drugs.  The amount of money spent on the failed war on drugs could be put to use in prevention, education and clinics.  Portugal has done this and drug abuse is has had an incredible decline and is a non issue in the media and politics over there.

Andy's comment sparked my

Andy's comment sparked my curiosity ... is MJ "healthier" in brownie form instead of being smoked?  I watched a documentary on Louis Armstrong once that said his morning ritual was a laxative and smoking marijuana.  Supposedly the smoking took years off his life.

Smoking anything is bad for

Smoking anything is bad for you.  There are plenty of alternatives to smoking though, edibles, and vaping are healthier choices.  There are also growers that are growing strains of Cannabis that have much lower levels of THC but higher levels of CBD (cannabidiol) for patients that dont want to get high but want pain relief.

Oh, and yeah cool groove there Andy.

Sorry, when the topic of Medical marijuana pops up I jump on it as I absolutely hate the pharmaceutical industry.  I wont even take aspirin unless I absolutley have to.

Thanks y'all.

Thanks y'all.

It took me four days to finish one damn brownie. It being so potent, now, is the reason I quit smoking it.

I re-edited the track a LOT. Here's the finished version. It starts smooth and gets gritty towards the end. A good gritty. :)

Your stuff never falls

Your stuff never falls comfortably into any one genre Andy, one of the main reasons I like it! There are definite hints of Jungle on this one but you've given it that unique Zamoron stamp. Excellent!

Good music needs not a category to be good. I find a sound that I like and add sounds that sound sound with them. It's the sequencing that trips me up. Although, even that isn't as bad as forgetting an animation. Then, remembering after the sequencing is almost finished.

Thanks Jason! I ended up

Thanks Jason! I ended up taking it to a different level. I'm digging the Atmos1 preset. ;) Notice, on the final version, the single low opening note & single low notes at the breaks. They carry a long time. A lot of people probably don't notice the "other" presets they get with your sound packs.

At 152 bpm I thought it was almost too slow for dnb. Even house has sped up so much; as of late.

Thank you.

Thank you.

I charged my old phone and have a few dozen files I need to complete and/or re-edit. "Welcome to Andyland" was started on, yesterday. Already, it is significantly better. Most of my older tracks were done with live animations. Now, I almost exclusively animate through the sequencer. It makes a HUGE difference.

I think smoking anything is

I think smoking anything is probably not great, and weed with tobacco as a blunt or spliff is going to have all the health risks of being a smoker.

That said, my aunt has MS and has used weed medicinally for over 20 years - the drugs they prescribe you kill your appetite, one thing that weed is good at stimulating!

My cousin is the same age as me - she ended up hooking her own mum and dad up with a dealer she already knew from her own misspent youth, talk about role reversals...laugh

There's still no real acceptance of medical marijuana here in the UK.

Far as I understand; the only detrimental effects of reefer occur at the point of combustion. Thus, the brownies. I was a pharmacy technician (chemist's assistant) for six and a half years. Pharmaceuticals cause too many problems.

Wow!!  That thing you're doing there that kicks in from 2:35 to 2:50, and squelches in and out of earsight for the remainder...that thing is cool.  I'm kind of jealous because I'm trying to do an extremely similar thing, and my results are a bit...suckier.  I...am going to listen to this a few more times today (and tomorrow), lol...  Badass job, as always, Andy.  ( =

Sub synth, Lost Satellite,

Sub synth, Lost Satellite, animate the mix (from osc 1 to osc 2 and back) in the same amount of time it takes to animate the osc 2 octave rate from 4 o'clock to 10 o'clock. Also, increase the measures to two and use one whole note.

One bite a day for four days.

One bite a day for four days. That brownie was a beast! I could've eaten all of it and been a vegetable. But, as previously stated, it was being used medicinally. It worked beautifully.

Glad you like the track. Yes, I agree that it sounds chaotic. There's a lot going on towards the end. But, if you turn the volume up and close your eyes everything becomes separated. Enjoy my weirdness.
