caustic does not like stereo wav files

Not a real deal breaker for me but i thought stereo wav's were supported. It may be my phone or O.S. Samsung Galaxy S 2010...

Just a note...

Another thing I discovered, Caustic doesnt like 48khz either but I would expect that....

No support for stereo files

No support for stereo files in the sense that they will get merged to mono on load, but it shouldn't crash or anything. Let me know if it does.

48KHz should not be a problem, the only ones that are still a problem are 32bit WAVs and compressed WAVs (rare). I'll get some code to support 32bit soon (they'll be converted to 16bit)

48s crash and kill caustic

48s crash and kill caustic kocks me to the desktop and loses all data except recent save upon rrentry to the program. Stereo wavs do merge to mono.

16bit imported wavs are more than enough, i dont see the need to import 32bit. I doubt most phone or tablet can handle the extra data load 65k to over 5000k?

Like I said not a big deal. Most sounds are best loaded in mono and spread around the 2.0 field thru processing and subtle panning.
Less phase problems that way, especially percussive and drum sounds.

Wish insert fx would process into stereo though...

If you have a 48KHz file that

If you have a 48KHz file that crashes Caustic (which isn't 32bit), please send it may way for some debugging.

Android can only output 8 or 16bit audio, there is no API for anything greater. Some instruments in Caustic are 32bit internally, some are 16, depending on the needs. For output sampling rate, the only guaranteed one on Android is 44KHz, but some devices can go higher.

The only machine that has stereo output is the Beatbox right now but insert effects will run stereo when dealing with the beatbox. There are no mono-in/stereo-out insert effects though. The global effects (reverb and delay) are both mono-in / stereo out.
