mmmmmmm, I could go for something like that.... but I'm looking at approx 130 BPM tempo, and going to do some funky drumming, if that's ok with everyone. I will work around anything you guys arrange.....
If you want, I can set up a simple basic rhythm or beat to start off with? or do you want to start off with some instrument runs and build from there?
I think more the organ. Talking with Jason, maybe more of a 70s funk soul sound. I got some horns that I would like to bring in. We are going to see if he can take it from 4 slots to1.
So let's find a good chord funk progression that we can jam too.
I fixed up the horns in the SongFile you sent to me earlier..... perhaps keeping them (save the presets and reload them later) would give them more punch and bite in a future piece..... but I might go a slightly different beat for a more funk feel....
The organ lick seems interesting but seems to go off beat in the end as if you sped up..... I'll poke around with it later when I get some free time, I still am setting up a PKPlat rig up for this.... I've been working on my hihats, some things were bugging me.... And with my kits now stereo they sound rather noisy busy when summed mono onthe current app build, so I need to revert to earlier stages of my samples as I build the kits up.
It does. I tried to mimic how I play it on keyboard. Came out a little off in the way I put it in caustic. It suppose to speed up in that part but stay in time.
Gotchya..... when I get some free time, I 'll poke around and set up a simple basic rhythm to get started..... been a busy day here today though, ugh....
I'll contribute, but please send me an email when it's my turn, as I'm not checking in as often as I previously did. Not losing interest, just have a lot going on recently.
Big Beard Studios has guitar samples on google play for caustic. I know one of them is called jam room the other one I think is under the title real instruments.
Is there a spot for freelance composer? I'd like to try and see if it is really good if a special guest is very useful. I mean I would get to add notes and notes. A Freelance Composer. I'd get to see your composing and maybe add to the composition. :/
Forgive me guys, but due to situations here at home that require my undivided attention, I will regretfully have to pull out of this project.... I'll be out of the picture for a while
Yes, would be cool if I could sample me playing one on a keyboard. I wouldnt sample note for note, but, got some awesome organ sounds between two keyboards. I wonder if it would be legal to sample me playing 8 measures at a time sampled on each key of the pcm. I could alter the sounds, but the originals are really good. Maybe I'll just play around with them and see if I can alter them for the better, unless you want me to use caustic organ. I would love to attempt a piece like this:)
I am, I was giving it time for feedback. I should have it posted this weekend.
I think you should try to create the sound on the subsynth. I have gotten some unique organ sounds out of it. Trying to showcase what caustic can do, I just find guitars hard to recreate fully on the pcm. So far it's just you, CR and me. So I would worry about slots. Instead of a big orchestration have it be more of a jam. I'm going to try to get my guitars that vintage sound. Clean/fuzzy, and make the keyboard the main part of it.
Make it sound old, I was thinking of even panning the drums to one side as they used to back in the day.
Ok, interesting I haven't gotten a really good organ sound out of the subsynth yet. I'll experiment with it and see what I can do. I'll await to hear your drums and guitar. We also got to remember to email CR when he is up because he can't check the forums as often.
Here is what I kinda ended up putting it together. Let me know what you think. Vocals are still up in the air. Just a few that I threw in there, but a bit hesitant. And I need to re-do them if we want to go with some vocals. I was tinkering around with some VST filters.
And please be honest... LOL... I am just trying to move this into something new.
Adding vocals will be awesome. The ones you have added in my opinion are too distorted. Another than that, I like it alot:) let me know when you want me to add the subsynth to it.
Yes, i was just messing around, when I recorded, I had to re-run them thru the vst, but this was just to get it started. So I messed them up. Take the patterns out and then we can just go from there. I'll keep tinkering with it and add them at a later time.
Right now it's a Em7 to Bm7, see if you can mix in some other progression. I had a Em7 x 2 and Bm7 x 2 overdriven but I didn't get a good take when I recorded it.
Do you want to do a keyboard intro until the fill? Remove the vocals, as they were there just for the idea. After the fill I'll record new guitar parts to go with the keyboards.
Then vocals (maybe).
Sure:) It will take me a couple of days to put one together. Hopefully, I can finish mixing the community jam today. Then I'll work more on the organ for this track. What did you think of the sound of it?
Sounds great... If anything I'm sure as we move along we will keep defining the sounds in the song. This gives me more time into looking how to better record vocals. And write out some lyrics.
Hey there, I'm still trying to keep an eye on this thread..... when I am able to, I'll be happy to add some things if desired.... It is just hard to even get to a screen to really sit down and do things right now, it's crazy around here.
A vintage sounding drum kit... Not sure if there's one in the pocket kits, or at least let me know if there are tweaks that will mimic that late 60s 70s drum sound.
Also I have been watching a lot of vocal processing vids, in your opinion, what are the effects that should be in line in the audio track.
Pre-amp to compressor to vocoder to EQ? This is to record, not to run them in caustic as I have your build.
Do you want to keep the vocals in one machine? If you kick on the LPF Filter keep it max sweep, add a compressor in the IFX, add a Hi-Shelf filter, near max sweep, no reso, mild boost until you get a nice shimmer to your voice, and you should be good to go, all wrapped up in one machine slot....
Do you have all three pocket kit pro packs? if not, I'll send them to you, there are alot of acoustic kits in different configs..... I have more snares and various configs, but havent had time to make update PKPlat kits with them yet..... I'll see what I have and see if I can send you something ( I got new snare configs done that may fit into classic rock feel drums)
Did you watch my Builderz DSP Vocals video? that will give you some ideas maybe....
I was referring to recording vocals out of caustic. Caustic will be used for any final tweak needed. Like if you were in a studio, what would be in the mic line as far as effects.
I have all your kits. Just curious if there was something you didn't release for x reason.
I would record straight from mic and preamp into your recorder.... Then process and EQ later.... Use a pop screen, even if you have to hold a cheesecloth material in front of you..... Stand up straight approx 6-9 inches from the mic. Large diaphram like an AKG is preferred, but and SM 57 or 58 will suffice as well.....
My dev time is totally shut down right now, so I don't have any new kits ready assembled yet.....
That would make me tired too. Take your time. It's snowing where I'm at right now. I like playing in the snow, but when it's this cold it makes me want to hybernate. I'm looking foward to warmer weather also.
I'm stuck at my auto mechanic's for an air leak in my power steering pump, so I am able to do some test builds on my upcoming Platinum project, so I may have some custom kits for you to use if you like, but in Platinum format will take two slots.....

Well, do you want to do something like higher ground then? 25 or 6 to 4? Drop the rhythm, then we can take it from there.
Just an idea.

Just give us a beat... :)
Ok, Ill grab Sky's file and see what i can do to start this off....

Jason, I will work with the drum track you create. I just uploaded those files to get an idea of what kind of track to create.

Hi band. Do you know of any guitar that isn't acoustically mute like SG Metal RY (1-2)? It's from the file Sky Sound named and modified by Skynexia.
Big Beard Studios has guitar samples on google play for caustic. I know one of them is called jam room the other one I think is under the title real instruments.
Zvon has some acoustic guitars that sound quite nice...
I'll set up a simple hihat run to get something started and will build the drum track as the music elements develop....

I hope all is well Jason. Family comes first.
Yes Jason, I hope all gets better. Hopefully you can soon join us again.
But the show must go on. So let me regroup my thoughts on what direction to proceed.
Sky 6/8 and a keyboard sound like the one of the house of the rising song. Does that sound interesting?

No problem sky... I have enough to keep me busy.

I'll mess with it now.
I was hoping to get some some over the storm this weekend. But after cleaning a shoveling all I did was sleep... Can't wait for the summer!
