Caustic 2.1.0 - Early official release

The last release candidate expires tomorrow (Nov 24) so if you get another "this app's beta period has expired" message, be glad to know it was the last one for a while.

I'd like to thank everyone who participated in the beta program for 2.1, it has gone really well. I'm definitely happy with how quickly the whole thing went and, fingers crossed, this build looks like one of the most solid "point 0" releases I've ever put out, so hopefully there won't be any big surprises once it hits the mainstream.

Here's your APK, it IS signed for the market so you'll need to uninstall the last beta you have before installing this. It's pretty much the same build as RC3, with a few aesthetic fixes. It's still time to let me know if you find anything wrong with it though.

I have a bit of work left bringing the tutorials and manual up to date with the new stuff so I don't expect this on the markets for another week or so.

But if you're reading this, enjoy the early release, just keep in mind that content made with it won't open in the current market one.

Thanks again,

-Rej

Thanks Rej!

I read every single sentence since first BETA version here, but didn't have spare time to try it myself. So many thanks to anyone on board also.

I even reunited with my old friend and started to work on new songs after 5 year long hiatus due to Caustic!

I bought Note 2 with enough horse power, but the latency is horrible (93ms). Nothing really special during using of Caustic, but I used to have 43ms on my old Desire HD with custom ROM, it's pretty sad. With 2.1 version everything is working really fine, I can load all my older songs and portrait mode is really useful for bigger screen like that one on Note 2.

Thanks again.

Awsome!

Awsome!

Windows version following up soon?

I must admit that it is easier and more precise to make knob or level changes on my laptop than on my small phone screen...

Thank you Rej!

I was worried about the Nov. 24th looming cut off.

In the latest release; piano roll, the names of the samples aren't displayed as in the PCM editor. Is this correct?

I can't remember checking it it the Betas and RCs.

I just got me a Google Play

I just got me a Google Play card so I can get caustic unlocked. I have the 2.1.0
apk installed. Do I need to uninstall this and go back to 2.0 to unlock? If so, can
I.upgrade to 2.1.0 with the apk release and it will still be unlocked?
James
btw: I've had this phone for a year and this will be the first app I've ever bought. Simply awsome!!! Wow, it's like reason in a 4" screen. ZTE Warp.

Hold up there cowboy!  First

Hold up there cowboy!  First Welcome!  But if you have Rej's EOR (Early Official Release) downloaded from this site, all you need is the Unlock Key...... you don't need the old Caustic 2 app --- the newest one here released to the community is the new one you probably already have.  Grab the key and you are good to rock!  Grab some free sounds here (presets located at the top of this page -- click More to see the entire list)  I also offer free packs at the GPS .... you can see what that's all about -- HERE--   and there are other providors that offer content as well for the app.

Again, welcome, and prepare to be hooked.... Caustic is much better than Reason BTW cool

I know I'm kind of late to

I know I'm kind of late to the party but I just installed the update just a few minutes ago and I am already incredibly impressed with the new look. It's just so beatiful to me now.

And of course, you put in one of my top requested features: the sequencer follow feature. Thank you so much for being awesome and putting together some awesome music software. Being an Android user and an electronic musician, you have no idea how much you are helping me out now. Thanks again.

Cool, you're welcome. I have

Cool, you're welcome. I have to go through the feature request forum and delete some threads once this is out (few hours I'm hoping)...

I can never remember who asked for what (usually it's more than one person if it ends up getting implemented) but I'm serious when I say it's YOU GUYS' requests that mostly decides what will end up as new features. At this point, I've already gone way past my own experience with music software so I'm learning as I go, based on what's required by end-users.
