johandelpire mentioned that he had gotten some Game Boy Samples. I was looking forward to hear what he would do with them because his work is always so interesting and impressive. I decided to get some old games sounds for myself to play with...and found there are loads of them out there! I was first thinking of doing an 8 bit electronic thing but I kept making myself laugh with them doing silly stuff and decided to do an homage to the old fight games I used to play. It ended up being a mashup of all kinds of game sounds. I did make a couple sounds of my own including the final bit which is outside the arcade, GLaDOS from Portal.
It won't waste too much of your time and I hope it makes you smile. 
BTW it is so easy to load samples now in 2.1 ..asigning high and low notes,root note and keeping track of what you're doing ETC that this was just loads of fun to do.

I'd love to hear what you've done. I am sure you are being modest or overly self critical and did something pretty cool.
I tried to overdrive the sound a little so it would sound like it was coming out of a little speaker, which didn't come out like I planned at all!!!! I think it would have been better to use a small amount of distortion in the master FX.

It's nice to hear that you would want to play the game. In my mind I can 'see' the game because of the 'sound track', but I wasn't sure anyone else would.

I wish there was a simple version of Portal that could be played on Android. There used to be a flash version but I don't run Flash on my phone or tablet.
I hope Valve makes a Portal 3 but would be very surprised if they do. I am still waiting for the next half life!
