Epic drum & bass preview.

The main sequencing layout is done. Work need be done on animations, levels, sequence switch outs, semi, etc. But, it's not bad for starting it with an idea for two presets. I did not intend on making such a long track. But, before laying any loops down, I started adjusting the settings and found the opening/closing sounds. Six instruments: two pcm, two subsynth, one beatbox, and one modular.

Feedback is appreciated. I need a title too. *scratches head*

Enjoy my weirdness.

I like it. Love that old school jungle vibe. reminds me of some stuff heard on early WishFM or Dara, or even DB mixes. love the work with the breaks as always!!! as for a title. "The Other Side of Everywhere" just popped into my head. well, there's my $.02 ( I would love to take a look at the Caustic file for this to check out your break programing)  Thanks!!!

Thanks!

Thanks!

I kind of went Goldie on the intro. But, I always spend more time on my intros than anything else. It's, to me, like wrapping a gift. I've been known to use weird things as gift wrap. (Job applications, aluminum duct tape, paper maché, a dozen layers of shrink wrap, etc) Also, I love changing the sounds. The faint sound that starts at 18s is the main bassline. ;) I was thinking along the same lines for a title.

Here's a few amen breaks I made from different kits. The kick drum, snare, and hi hats are always in the same places.

I think it needs to be about

I think it needs to be about 5 minutes shorter! Although I'm pretty sure if I was stoned I'd want it 10 minutes longer, so... ya know!

I can't really pass any constructive crit on this as it's nothing like something I would or could produce and most of my stuff would be quite at home in a disco filled largely with oiled men!

I like what you've done though, reminds me of Aphex Twin, maybe put some more dirty growls in there just to make it pop.

Mindfool, I cannot resist an

Mindfool, I cannot resist an intense buildup for an intro. I find sounds that go together and preview, preview, preview. Sometimes I have a good enough combo for an intro like this & The Dark Place.

Jason, thank you. And, again, thank you for the Pray kit. It was one, of the two, presets I started this with. The other is one of the 3Kords presets from Big Beard. They're niiiiiice.

Rob, it'll be easier to tolerate after a few pints and editing. Not cutting...just editing. A disco filled largely with oiled men? Forget not that I'm in Texas. Oiled men are common. Not in a Revolting Cocks way. They're oil field workers called roughnecks. Even if the beer was free; don't reckon I could see them in a disco. Aphex Twin? Hmmmm...I did listen to some old dnb yesterday. Suarepusher-Tundra and Schizm, Kamanchi-Stay, PFM-One and Only, Accidental Heros-Even When it Rains, DB-Fate or Faith, and a couple others. My nephew was with me and always has to know who we're listening to. I've a few adjustments to do on the existing basslines. Also, I've already started another track with the same sound set and more. I haven't done anything like Underworld, yet. ;)

V Recordings (Kamanchi's and

V Recordings (Kamanchi's and Roni Size's old label) is probably the most steadfast dnb labels ever. But, I truly miss Moving Shadow. Omni Trio is one of my all-time favorite dnb artists. If you love Squarepusher; get the Warp Vision dvd! The Warp compilation disc was in my car cd player for two years. Warp is one of the few labels that I could see my music on. They release the full gammit of electronic genres. And thanks to one of their best artists, Luke Vibert, I refuse to make just one style. The last kit in that file is the best. Have fun.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude you have

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude you have opened my eyes (which is cool cause I totally thought I was seeing stuff...but no!) To awesome new ways of breakbeat madness!!! thank you so much for that file. Lol. I was totally creating my breaks the hard way!!! On another note im a HUGE omni trio fan. Im constantly droppin "Tripping on broken beats" (and various remixes of that tune) in to one mix set or another. Not to mention old 4hero and Goldie "Temper Temper" ill deff take your advice on that warp comp album. Sounds pretty sick. Thanks again!!

So I was wanting to show my appreciation for the awesome gift of break you hooked me up with today. I decided what better gift than more breaks? we were talking about a bunch of old school jungle tracks earlier so I just did a 55 min live mix of some of my favs from back in the day. Hope you and anyone else with a taste for old school drum and bass will enjoy!

No problem. Tripping on

No problem. Tripping on Broken Beats is phenomenal. But not my favorite track by him. The Moving Shadow 98.1 & 99.2 disc 2's still hold up.
