Caustic is not receiving midi data on channels 9 - 16

I just got a new MIDI controller (M-Audio Oxygen25) and, for some reason, Caustic is not recognizing any MIDI data sent on channels 9 - 16. Havin Caustic in 'MIDI controls the on screen synth' or 'MIDI controls one synth per channel' modes doesn't seem to make a difference, nothing happens when I set my controller to transmit on any channel above 8.  In fact, the little MIDI plug indicator that always flickers when MIDI data is coming in, does not indicate any received data when the controller is set to transmit channels 9 - 16.

It is odd, because when I first plugged in the controller, I was able to put a PCM Synth loaded with the GM Drums patch into slot 10 in Caustic, and using the pads on my controller (which always transmit on channel 10) *DID* allow me to play the drum patch with Caustic set to send each MIDI channel to the individual synths.

I have restarted my iPad and deleted/re-installed Caustic, but no change.

I have verified using other iOS apps that the controller is, in fact, sending MIDI data on all channels. I'm only having this problem with Caustic.

Are the instrument slots tied

Are the instrument slots tied to MIDI channels? Slot 1 = Channel 1, 2 is 2 etc.? My MIDI controller is buried somewhere so I can't check.

MIDI channel per instrument mode

Yes. When Caustic's MIDI mode is set to 'channel per instrument, ' each machine is supposed to respond to the MIDI channel corresponding to the slot it is loaded in.

I'll investigate. I'm using a 3rd-party library to handle MIDI on iOS so it's a bit trickier but I should be able to get a test case to submit to them at least.

Thanks Rej. I also have Caustic on my Galaxy Note 4, and all midi channels are being received from my controller in Caustic on that device.

Just want to note this is still an issue! Making my midi routing life a bit of a challenge with my octatrack. Dope software tho, cross-OS music production is a beautiful utopia dream.

A workaround: Place a modular

A workaround: Place a modular in slot 1 to 8, use the machine input module, "activate send notes to source" and then you can control mother machines  in slots 9 to 14. You'll have only 8 midi channels at once, but you can stack multiples machines from a single modular.
