iPad File Manager for Caustic

In reviewing FTP and File Manager apps for the iPad, I came across this:

Cloud Browser - Access to Dropbox, Google Drive, Skydrive, Amazon S3 and FTP by VietMobile
https://appsto.re/us/QyzDN.i

I can access files in Caustic, move them around, delete, create folders in Caustic etc. Also accesses AudioShare, Google Drive and Drop Box. It zips files and folders. It even previews samples from Caustic although it buffers them for a few seconds first.

I hope to look into this more thoroughly when I get a chance. Also, it is free - as in beer.

My nephew has clogged my iPad

My nephew has clogged my iPad with too many games. But, soon as he's gone for a few days...

Thank you.

This app is not really necessary for this purpose. All you have to do is go into Settings>General>Usage>Manage Storage and just start deleting. Or hold down an app icon until they start to wiggle and tap on the "x". I find doing it in settings easier. All that wiggling makes me nervous. wink

I've literally no room left.

I've literally no room left. I'm even deleting old recordings, Akai iMPC, purchased iTunes, pictures, most of his games, and a few other things.

I know how to delete. It's just explaining to a sixteen year old why his 8-ball pool tournament app is gone.

StePH, Caustic for iOS is beautiful! The latency difference is absurd. Everything just sounds crispy fresh.

@AndyZamoron

Gotcha! It was easier to buy my kids their own devices so I wouldn't have to share mine! Fortunately I got them at reduced prices.

Here's an example of how to

Here's an example of how to use Cloud Browser with Caustic. I want to map drum samples to PCMSynth. I have them in AudioShare. Put samples in a folder and zip it in AudioShare. Zip file won't "Open In" in Caustic from AudioShare. But it will Open In Cloud Browser. Connect Caustic and Cloud Browser via FTP. Copy zip from Cloud Browser to whatever folder you want in Caustic. Open the zip in a PCMSynth and you're done. Takes longer to type it out than to do it. No computer required.

Here's another. Cloud Browser

Here's another. Cloud Browser has a web browser built in. Go to Caustic website. Download a preset from the Presets forum. It will be in the Cloud Browser Downloads folder. Tap on it and select Open In. Choose Caustic and you're done.

It's the only app I've found

It's the only app I've found that wasn't missing some part of the equation. File management including creating folders, deleting files and some other things was either missing or not fully implemented. This one seems like it was made for Caustic.

Also emailed you

Enable FTP in Caustic
Go to Cloud Browser and under Locations tap New Connection
On the right tap on FTP at the top
Fill in a Display Name. I would use Caustic
Fill in address that shows up in Caustic on the FTP page. Probably 0.0.0.0
Username is caustic
Password is connect
Port is 3131
The IP address and port are whatever shows up under the Connect tab in Caustic. Usually it's what is above.
After all is filled in tap Connect in the upper right corner.
You should see Caustic under Clouds in the left column
Once you've filled in all this info you won't have to do it again.

Next time just start Caustic, start the Caustic FTP and then Cloud Browser. Click on Caustic in the left column under Clouds and all Caustic folders will show up on right.

Good luck!
