Hi guys. It's just for my own perception, but i think to have a good track, a nice choice of drum kit is very important. Choice of other instruments or sounds is everywhere and easy to manipulate/adjust. But a descent drum kit is hard. :)
Descent drum kit is very important to have a good track.
And until now, I was searching for a good drum kit/s for my tracks. And it was very tough to find that drum kit that will suit my taste. I can't say what kind of drum kit was that.

It's very simple...
My upcoming PocketKit Platinum will change the way mobile music makers create their drum tracks, I guarantee it.
If I have enough money, I'll try your kit Sir Jason. :)
What kind of style kits are you looking for? I'll send you something...
I just uploaded a nice electro kit-

Some electro house drum kit. :)
I think between all the kits that have been uploaded specifically for caustic you've got enough good sounds (let alone all the other wealth of good samples all over the place)
The important thing is choosing the appropriate sounds for a song and (generally speaking) not just using the default kits, mix and match and make the right kit for your song.

if you want electro the standard 909 kick is already one of the best kicks you'll get for electro. there are tons of good snares in the other default kits anyway so those shouldn't be a problem. about the hihats personally I really have a thing for the trapstyle 808 hihat but if I remember correctly the trance kit hihat isn't that bad either. add a few effects to those and tweak a little in the mixer and you got what you need. and this are just the basics. there are so many great samples in the beatbox presets.

exactly. and another important thing is to always try all the presets you have. I swear even the preset you hate the most has exactly the right samples for one of your songs. you just have to find that one song.

Yes. mix and match was there to formulate a combination of sounds that will suit each other. Just for me, it is hard to get that punchy drums or vice versa especially the snare. As I make my tracks, it was very important for me the choice of drum kit. It is more easy to the other instruments or sounds. :)
I've found the PCM trap drum kit to be fantastic in five octaves. The kicks turn to snares and the snares to hats at high octaves. Foldback distortion is great on them too.

Are there going to be any more kits similar to the dnb big kit? I use the shit out of the labeled one. My song called Breakdown is the perfect example. I used all of them, individually. But, Tangents was a little more creative. I started with the amen break bongos. Then, pasted that sequence on each other individual kits. The bongos pecussively carry the entire 15m26s track. Nary do I've problems figuring out the different kits (Extreme). However, your labeling of the dnb big kit (Drum & Bass pack version) invariably is why I use it so much.
Yeah, it's a long track. You'll hear what I'm referring to though. The first 10m26s are alright. Even I can't believe the last five minutes were made by me! I went full Orbital and didn't realize it for a week.

yes, that's true.... SubSynth also does magical wonders employing the same method....
The Classic Drum Machine pack still blows my mind! I expected maybe a dozen beatbox kits. Nope....there's damn-near a hundred. It's taken me months to memorize them all. Some, like the Gulbransen & Luxor Passat, need sfx boosting though.

And once you know them all it's like, need the kick from the dry house, The snare and hats from the 909, crash from the dub step kit, and the snares from the Jazz pocketkit to blend with the 909 snare.
GO!
