Hey all have a listen please, put a lot of effort getting the finish or mastering on this sounding good, on caustic it sounds great, played in iTunes it sounds great, even played on Soundcloud from my phone it's not bad but from my laptop through speakers or headphones I'm not impressed, any suggestions?
My first full track why's it sound bad after uploading to Soundcloud
This brought back a load of memories dude, cheers I liked this alot. I'd bend that bell sounding synth & try and liquidise it, if that makes sense? Could maybe go more melodic but gradually towards the later end of the track, good work :)
Not using speakers at the moment so can't comment accurately dude :( depends how you want it to sound aswell though?
Hey thanks for the kind comments, I really appreciate that. I've been reading a lot on here about mastering and making use of the limiter and compressor effects and by experimenting I'm getting some nice results that are making the track sound a little more professional. I think I'll leave it more or less how it is as I don't want to change it too much, I think it needs a little extra like you say perhaps a bit more melody added. I was thinking of mild ravey pads of some sort and some percussion breaks made from the beatbox kit. Those who've commented on it have liked the oldskool rave feel which I'm happy about as that was what I was aiming for. I actually started this making up a cheesy hardcore rave synth for fun and then toning it down a bit to create a house track.

Anyone know of any other Caustic users that produce House music or Techno? Any tracks out there that have an old skool vibe?

Great vibe!
May use more instruments such as melodies and/or rise ups-crashes etc...
It will give more atmosphere to the track;)
I'm working on a couple house tracks atm you should check out this groovy sounds I've created a couple weeks ago.

I also have a house collab track with Danny Houston, feel free to check it out on my SoundCloud;)
Btw SoundCloud slightly compresses the sound of any song you upload, just make sure to upload your tracks in a high quality kbps;)

Does it really? I didn't no that lol :( does sound cloud support the 32 bit rate export of a track?
Sidechain that tune to the kick since it is not a soft percussion. Sidechain to make your kick stand more clear. That is all...
Yeap sidechain compression is a great choice;)

I've uploaded tracks with up to 480kbps and it sure keeps the power of the sound in place;)

Thanks for the responses, yeah It just needs a little more atmosphere. Thanks for the suggestions. I've already altered the echoey clap that that comes in on the breaks as this does not sound great on my upload. I was certain there was something about the Soundcloud upload. I didn't realise Soundcloud compresses uploads, I think I uploaded a 16 or 24bit WAV. and not a 32bit. I'll play about with sidechaining. Phorsion you say 'sidechain that tune to the kick'. You mean use compression on the synth channel sidechaining the kick/beatbox?

The finished track is now on my Soundcloud!

Awesome track, love it. Could you post the coustic file? I'd like to mess with this stuff
Simple but groovey! I can say that this was a minimal edm experience. Nice one here. :)
Yeah it sounds great to me! What happens a lot to me is getting used to hearing the caustic file and the exported wav files I save as the work progresses. Then soundcloud compresses it to I believe 128kbps, so the contrast is what makes it seem like it sounds bad. Just my experience.
Astrotrance I know what you mean, I tweek and listen to my tracks, this one particularly and get it sounding just the way I want then after the upload to Soundcloud I do notice a difference as I've listened to it so much. In contrast uploaded to iTunes it sounds pretty much the same as the caustic file
