Last one for a while, maybe. (Finished and main drum sequence file included)

Two weeks ago the city I live in (Wichita Falls, Texas) was in the midst of a catastrophic drought. Almost daily torrential downpours, tornado warnings, hail, 50-111 mph winds, and more rain have turned this town into an island. Two blocks from my house; people are being evacuated by boat. So, I've got to put my crippled ass in gear and start packing & sandbagging.

Enjoy my weirdness.

The flood waters have, for now, stopped encroaching...three houses down from mine. The magnificent 174 acre park I gain inspiration from, and proof listen to my music, is completely under water. It's only the length of one football field behind me.

Enjoy my weirdness.

Also, my best songs are being remastered, finely tuned, exported at 24-bits, and available for purchase at andyzamoron.bandcamp.com

Have a nice day. And stay high & dry.

Thanks.

I fixed the crackly bass & changed the file. Give it another listen.

Yeah, the news said we're in for a lot more rain. It happens. I'm alive and all of my family is safe for now.

My abode in the clear for now

My abode in the clear for now. And, the city is providing sandbags! But, we're expecting another six inches (15 cm) of rain within the next week.

Here's an example of my very sane programming. It's the sequence used in this track. (Which I'm still working on.)

Ooh, I long for certain people to upload their .caustic files and divulge their secrets. You are one of those people, Andy.
Not so I can rip you off, but so I can deconstruct the work and learn what techniques you use cos there's so much going on, I cant separate it. I'm that guy who respects the magic trick more when know how it's done x

Keep ya wellies on and you should be ok come the end of the storm dude

The LFO should've been set to

The LFO should've been set to square wave instead of sine. But, yeah, it one of my crazy sequences. Like in Illtempered The Carousel, and Breakdown. I memorized the amen and Sesame Street break pattern sequences. I make sure the kicks, snares, open hi hats, closed hi hats, cymbal ride, and cymbal crash are all in the right places. Then, I add to it and/or use different types of kicks/snares/hats to make patterns within the main pattern. It looks like a clusterfuck. But, to me, it's not. This sequence is a Sesame Street break.

Thanks! Yeah, we had a "recommendation to evacuate" yesterday. Even every major news network was in town. The bastards didn't even help fill sandbags. But, the expected rainfall dissipated. Making this track helped calm me down. We'll be fine, thank you.

Alexei, I used the same

Alexei, I used the same drawing for this one too. It's just a picture of random paisleys I drew on paper, ran through a few filters, mirrored both right & left halves, layered each on top of each other, ran it through a couple of more filters, and changed the colors. The one for New Shoes was, obviously, ran through different filters. Also, fun fact, DMT smells like new shoes.

Just figured this would be

Just figured this would be interesting.

I used to work in a factory behind the water park, know people that work at the car wash, and have family that live at that lake. The drought was so bad that, at the beginning of May, we were down to 21% water levels. Now, at the end or May, we are at 99%. It's not been that high since 1993. Without the drought, and without a doubt, my house would be underwater. Everything cycles.

Stay safe there man, if the

Stay safe there man, if the waters are getting dangerous and you can't avoid a property flooding situation, secure your home and get out of there.... for safety and health's sake.

If bugging in, get a TON of clean drinking water (at least 1/2 gal per person a day -- let's say up to two weeks depending on the weather and environmental situation there)and backups of washing/cooking water (if you have an extra shower aside from a main bathtub, I would clean and fill that tub full of cold water, and keep it handy for general purpose.

Food..... meh, get it where and when you can, but water..... is more precious than any amount of $$$ you have for whatever comes later.

Stay safe and wish you well, sir.   Keep in touch if you can.   Thoughts and prayers with you.

Dammit! It rained another

Dammit! It rained another inch this morning. Since the city started recirculating our waste water; I always have bottled water. Those with compromised immune systems aren't to consume it. I have a compromised immune system that's getting better. But, I can't risk it. The American Red Cross set up an outpost about a quarter mile down the road. Several neighborhoods are still flooded. But, there have been no casualties or injuries. Although, the humidity is killing us! It's literally the wettest month in our recorded history. And the beginning of the blazing Texas heat. Never have I seen so many mushrooms. Even late summer mushrooms are popping out. I'm cataloging, spore printing, taking pictures, and drying some out for a nature center. River Bend Nature Center is adjacent to the park/preserve I walk in every day. I'm not eating any of them! There's one that I cannot find in any literature. They're 20 cm tall, smell like rotting garlic, look like a giant unopened button mushroom crossed with a shaggy mane, and weigh upwards of half a kilo. The pink gills do not touch the stem or the 4 mm thick cap. Instead of opening, like a regular mushroom, the shingled cap peels like a banana and falls off. During the shedding is when the gills turn black. The result looks like the air intake & filthy filter for a Honda engine.

Tangent man strikes again.

I found a 25 x 15 cm

I found a 25 x 15 cm chocolate brown puffball mushroom. The bottom 2/3 had the consistency of chocolate cake. The top part puffed green when, even slightly, touched and was darker brown with big white spots. I can't find that one either. My Facebook page, now, has a photo folder devoted to the badass pictures I've been taking.

There's some freaky shit growing around here right now!

I'd no clue boletus rubellus grew here. But, I found eight monster ones under one oak tree. Panaleous cintculus abound. But, I'm resisting.

Finally, two weeks after

Finally, two weeks after finding them, figured out what the big self-peeling mushroom is! Agaricus deserticola is native to primarily west Texas and is adapted to dry weather. I've been infatuated by mushrooms since I was a small child. So, to me, they're all fun. It just hadn't rained this much in so damn long. Our lakes are now at 100% capacity and have not been so since 1993. This is cattle country. So, there's lots of psychedelic ones. Both psylocybe and panaleous abound. I'm not into those, anymore. If you can't tell by my music; I really don't need any help.

Yeah get as much of that

Yeah get as much of that bottled water you can get your hands on, and other stored water, boil ifnyou are able to, or with nat gas, if that service is running.....

I can attest to resting easy when our water service gets cut off due to a storm or burst main, be it in summer or dead of winter.... Went a week and half without water once, but I had enough on standby..... Because stores do clear sold out of it in about an hour, I've seen it happen many times -- and you dont want to be caught in a crowd of paniced people....

Water is definitely a

Water is definitely a necessity & comodity. All in this town know. But, I literally freak out when thirsty. After having c. diff. for thirty days; it went septic. I woke up with an incomprehensible thirst, was too weak to move, and hurting as though every joint in my body had the flu. I had seven litres of saline & one of adrenaline, all hand squeezed into my arms, before being taken to icu. That's how my immune system got messed up. The current water treatment leaves too many residual antibiotics for me to consume. California has been using the same process for a while. But, only 20-25% of waste water to fresh. We've gone from 50 to almost 80%. All of our grocery stores, and wholesalers, carry more water than sodas. The past year has been so exhausting for me. It's probably why most of my songs have an underlying darkness. We were in a stage 5 drought catastrophe for about a year. The city never planned for ANYTHING past stage 3. So, restrictions were severe and punishments harsh. $200 fine for any outdoor watering other than hand watering container plants. Second offense is $500. Third offense...the city turns your water off. Most well water is twice the salinity of the red sea. Today, however, the government completely removed us from being in a drought. Our lakes are at 100% capacity...and, dammit! It's about to rain again. It's gonna be a turd floater. Gotta move my car.

That's why, especially for your health and ease of mind, stock up on bottled water whenever possible.

Be safe there... don't panic or stress, it will pass... that will help you more than anything.

Good thing to have Caustic at your fingertips,  it has been a great outlet for you since you've joined this forum last year. cool

At least another inch of rain

At least another inch of rain in the past hour. My Fiat would've been flooded and moved. Five houses down is, not only downhill, a drainage ditch. Roads are rivers...for the next five minutes. Then, the next wave of rain. Everything spoken about Texas weather us true. It was over eighty degrees at noon and, within the past hour, it's dropped twenty. Thirty-five years here and still not used to it. *shrugs*

Bottled Water

Bottled water is not healthy. It can cause effects of cancer and disease. But probably that doesn't matter when thirsty. I don't even know anyone who has drank bottled water and gets effected. But somehow, bottled water is not good. Even if it's not good, we evolved already so you are immune to effects of bottle water. Andy is immune to effects. He has resistance. So the question is...               Why are there lies in information?

Huh?   how is it not safe?

Huh?   how is it not safe?    Most plastic water bottles are made out of PET (PETE) plastic which in virgin form is a safe food-grade material suitable for water containment.    Other certain bottles that contain BPA material is where the controversy comes in for safety, especially for children and women, because BPA can leach into foods and water (at a very very minimal amount -- this is where it is highly and hotly debated)

PET plastic bottles do not contain BPA and is safe for water and beverage consumption

Over two inches in that hour!

Over two inches in that hour! Every active mobile phone in the area had an alert from the National Weather Service, again. We're so saturated that the grass can't grow fast enough to stay in one place. I need to stop sleeping with the local weather station on. All the alerts are going to make me have nightmares about getting raped by R2-D2.

What I was saying is that

What I was saying is that health information is useless. I'm an example that there is no problem in consumption of any man made item even an overdose of medication for any body part inside or outside probably doesn't matter or kill me... as an example. You will be able to counter anything I say because you have experience. What I'm trying to say is that it's 2015. So much information in books are outdated that it's easy to be skeptical. Failure is imminent. You will win JaSJaSJaSJaSon. .  justificatijustjustififorget this stion ah forget this potato. Zeroproject reference potatotatotpotatotatotatoespotatotatotpotatotatotatoes.

Thanks. I'm trying to stay

Thanks. I'm trying to stay safe. This shit is exhaustive. Flood watch, flood warning, flash flood watch, flash flood warning, severe thunderstorm watch, severe thunderstorm warning, tornado watch, and/or tornado warning every day for a month. The sirens have gone off twice. Never, in thirty-five years, have I heard them used other than monthly testing. The last tornado we had was 1.5 mile wide F5. (April 10, 1979) Notice the difference between the ogg version & final version of this track. Well, it's time to drive to Dallas. I just hope the roads are open. They had five inches of rain, and us almost three, last night. Having the security of water is quickly being washed asunder.

Stay high & dry, people!

Dallas is 240 km away and

Dallas is 240 km away and almost saturated as Wichita Falls. Houston is 560 km away from WF. Even our tow trucks are going down there, to fish out vehicles, for free. A dam broke, in Bastrop, and washed away 400 homes. They're still searching for families.

Thanks, Jason. The final version is/uses Out There. :)
