New Track - Just Wait [Feat. Rachel Clark]

Caustic Song file (optional):

This track has been through more revisions than any other Caustic track I've made(!) It was first finished as an instrumental, but as I love adding vocals, I selected some vocals from the 'Rachel Clark Vocal Sessions' sample pack & spent a lot of time trying to get them to work with the track.

After much effort, I realised I just wasn't happy with the way they sounded & ended up deleting most of them, leaving a few remaining samples which fit nicely, but weren't very long.

I decided to use the WAV editor to break the "Wait" sample into 3 parts - start, middle & end, with the middle section set up to loop repeatedly. With the PCMSynth polyphony set to 1, and the 'middle' sample mapped over a couple of octaves, I was able to achieve the vocal effect heard in this track, which I was actually much happier with than the original lyrics I' d selected

Everything else is created using 7 different ModSynths, except for the PadSynth, a male choir Soundfont in PCMSynth, and obviously the percussion samples taking up 4 Beatboxes

Hope you enjoy, and any comments appreciated!

Nicely done dude. Excellent

Nicely done dude. Excellent work with the vocals and a nice technique well explained. Given me food for thought. The tune itself holds its own as an instrumental work too.

Thanks very much Alexei.

Thanks very much Alexei. There was a lot of fiddling around with the vocals, but got there in the end & am pleased with the results!

So you should be mate. I love

So you should be mate. I love vocal manipulation ( think holden and Thompson's 93returning remix of Nothing) and you've really inspired me for my next vocal piece. Very clever work

Yeah, that's another fine

Yeah, that's another fine DanSeb groove...... man you've come a loooooong way over the past three years here, sir.

I like the feel of this housy groove..... You should consider a big 45 minute mix of sorts, I could groove with something like that for quite a while.... very relaxing

Well done

Cheers! Must admit I'd not

Cheers! Must admit I'd not heard of that but have just taken a listen - very cool track, with great vocal effects! I can't get enough of the trance gate effect on vocals personally- always reminds me of 'Anomoly - Calling Your Name' which makes great use of it, and in turn reminds me of American Pie and the stripping scene!

Thanks very much Jason, that

Thanks very much Jason, that means a lot! I've been more musically productive over the past 3 years than ever before. Just love being able to relax back in the sofa with a pair of headphones & produce music - the desktop PC hasn't been touched since I got Caustic, despite having a bunch of decent music software on it!

That's why I still firmly

That's why I still firmly believe and try to help build and promote the use of quality mobile music software, because it can be done...... and can even get signed onto a network label (DJ-OEF1 right)

I can't wait to share what I have going on here, to really help inspire people to consider the massive possibilities that you have in the palm of your hand right now.....   but that's another day.

Keep rockin' and ....ummm housin' man... cool

Haha! Absolutely love that

Haha! Absolutely love that track, and American Pie for that matter - takes me right back to my first year of Uni, gathered round a small screen with my flatmates watching it in hysterics!

You've done an awesome work with vocals that I can't even tell you've separated into sections...
Great percussion arrangements and best of all is obviously your signature baseline!;)

Thanks very much LifeUp! I'm

Thanks very much LifeUp! I'm glad you've spotted this, I was worried you'd miss it once it slipped down onto page 2(!). The vocals 'sections' were actually quite simple to line up, due to the polyphony being set to 1 (to allow note gliding) which means, as soon as the next sample is played, the previous one automatically stops, so it worked out quite nicely automatically!

Sounds like you've used a

Sounds like you've used a different method then...I normally do the note on/off to manipulate the sound of the sample;)
