Here's a big ol' collection of high-quality drums that were released for free on Music Radar. I took my favorites and compiled them into a big ol' PCMSynth preset for anyone in need of some great real drum samples!
Used Reaper to record some samples of the Chapman Stick, a minor third apart so each sample also covers the adjacent notes above and below. My Stick has fresh new strings as of 2 or 3 months ago.
This is the first of two patches for the PCMsynth, covering the five bass strings and going about halfway up the neck. Another patch for the treble strings is forthcoming.
In this song I added chorus to give the impression of multiple bagpipes playing and parametric EQ to raise the midtones. But the preset does sound even better (more natural) without FX. Remove the effects in the Causticfile and hear for your self.
